As I've finally collected our camper and its working I thought i'd get a thread in here for it ;D
With a Golf Mk2 GTI and a 1303 Beetle its inevitable that my next ride would be another Dub, we've been hunting for a camper for a while now to use at weekend shows and for trips to Europe and after driving a T25(a bit big and bulky looking for my and SWMBO didn't really go for it) and not being able to afford a Split a Bay was the only choice.
This is our 1971 California import Westfalia bay camper
The outside is rot free with a respray when it arrived in th UK and the interior is usable but needs a little TLC
We had a couple of issues on the drive home when the dynamo packed up but the previous owner paid for the parts and work leaving me free to pay for a tap from the lowering stick to bring it down a bit
Whislt checking inside we found a stash of old maps and paperbags from the early 1980s
As well as some old registration papers from Sacremento so we can try and trace the US owners
For now were just tidying up ready for a trip down to Le Mans for the 24hrs and onto Germany for a VW show
