	So, this car failed its MOT yesterday, which I enjoyed. More welding, and fettling of the brakes which are unsatisfactory. I was not too upset about the wellding as it gave me a chance to play with my new toy: Bought off forum Member 'Alain'. Lovely job! Just a question of how long it lasts before some travellers burgle the garage and nick all my gear. Anyway, it works pretty well, here is a repair I did to the floor under the passenger seat: Good stuff. Anyway I have 10 days to get it in for a re-test and am reasonably confident of success. I worked till 11pm last night doing the welding. To be fair to the car, it is looking pretty good now, take a look: Apart from a slightly spongy brake pedal it drives very well too, its not such a bad old bus actually.

	Top work, familair exercise, buy car, fix lovingly but realistically, advertise, then fend off nugget buyers expecting it for nowt over the phone! Great though, appreciate your efforts there

	Enjoyed reading this thread, champion work! That fscking Prisma you sold me was a bit of a con though... I was expecting the full Italian car ownership experience and the sodding thing hasn't broken down once yet... I guess whoever gets this one will have a similar experience, you're obviously trying to undermine the "scene" by making a competent set of repairs and asking sane money for entertaining old vehicles. Next time there's a job going at Practical Classics you should apply, your threads make for very entertaining reading and are very informative at the same time. Write more Mr B. 	HEYYYYYY, I have just investigated this exhaust blow which mysteriously developed on the MOT ramp. Whaddya know - the f##kwits have clacked the exhaust on their ramp and SMASHED MY NEW B@STARD MANIFOLD!!!!!!!!!

	So, the saga of this car is drawing to a close as I sold it on eBay last night for £360, an extremely disappointing amount. I think I have covered my costs but have made pretty much zero profit. Anyway its got to go to make room for other projects and I was a bit fed up of fannying about with it anyway. The winning bidder seems keen and seems to be a 75 enthusiast which is good news. I had one guy ring up about it, wanted to use it for drifting. He kept asking things like 'so is it MOT'd? Is it nice and tidy then?' And when I replied yes, answered 'well i'm just going to take the windows and trim out, bin all that then cane it round a track, shame really', 'bit of a waste really', 'Criminal really but there we are' etc etc. I think he was trying to wind me up. Anyway he didnt even bid in the end. DRIFT WAl\lKER.

I had one of these drift-types turn up and look at my old Sapphire, wasted like an hour of my time, said it was curse word, then "drifted" his Corsa into his mate's car at the end of my road. It was worth my wasted time!

	Nice story JS! I had the one who came to look at my Starlet and wanted to me to reduce the price because he really wanted a white 3dr, not a brown 5dr (as mine rather clearly was in the eBay listing, and like I’d have been selling it for a few hundred had it been a 3dr). Glad his high bid didn’t meet reserve and I sold it to someone far more sensible off-eBay. It may not make good business sense, but I’d far rather sell a car cheap to a genuine enthusiast than at a higher price to a fool.
