I think you should limo tint it-bang it on 15" steel rims, satin black bonnet, debadged, dustbin for an exhaust and some furry dice
then mask off lots of circles on the body and paint it pink. pull off the masked bits and hey presto retro blobby!!!
spot the imagination overload in this post!!! ;D
oh yeah-don't let me near your car after copious amounts of alcohol pmsl!

I then wanted to start cleaning the interior as it stinks of wood (the material not the smell of a boner) best quote ever!

Actually, the 15" steels idea isn't a bad one...if they were TR6 steels!

a small update, i splahed out on some funky bits for the datsun. a set of posh wheeltrims and a big bore exhaust tip rescued from the skip at work. also a couple of old skool stickers.

i'm not too sure about the hubcaps...but that exhaust looks smart.
will you leave the door mirrors on? it seems popular to have mirrors on the wings with old J cars...is that in a pipeline or leave it as it is?
great car man!

Lose the hubcaps, keep the black steels until something good comes up......stickers look the job though

looks good, he managed a really great result with minimum outlay. got a couple of little body bits to touch up this weekend to make 98% super, re-laquer the upper 1/4's. i'm undecided about the wheeltrims, they'll stay til its lowered at least then it'll be back on black steels until i can afford new rims.

Thats a great link. Anyone know the UK equivalent of that Tremclad stuff? I fancy a go Or would any acrylic enamel work?

datsun breakdown! arrrgh!
sort of anyway, it hapened outside my house. been really difficult to start warm and annoying flat spot/general curse word performance since bought but yesterday just refused point blank to start. carried out the usual checks and found an extremly weak spark just able to jump 1mm! further checks found the coil to be dead so a nice new lucas sport one (£18.99) is on its way.

There are other products that are equivalent, you'll probably find a savvy paint supplier in the Uk that can tell you the UK equivalent or even if they have the US paint. update!
been a little quiet on dasun stuff this week. just been getting it in on the ramp at work and painting lots of black hammerite underneath. found 5 minutes to fit the new lucas gold coil and bin the ballast resistor so now starts/runs much better.
had my work experience lad strip down and clean out the mig welder at work thats been sat forgotten for a bout 5 years so have been cruising ebay and have picked up a daewoo matiz exhaust for 20 quid which will shed its straight thru box to replace the far too quiet one on the cherry. next weeks project!
and finally some good news: having been subject to a torrent of "they look naff/pants/sad" type comments the wheeltrims have been removed and put in the shed. black steels are the way forward!

They were right about the wheel trims. It looks cracking on the black steels.
