cheers man. looks like i might have to wait for the w/e to drop the back tho cause i need to borrow some axle stands yeh thats the quickest way to do it barr the old way of heating the coils and letting it drop. makes it a harder ride but was bouncy to begin with. also make the steering tight as hell.

Yeah i'm all for cutting springs, never seen it done while they're still on the car though! I took mine out, cut them and re-fitted them. Looks really mean now with the paint and rake, love it!

Yeah i'm all for cutting springs, never seen it done while they're still on the car though! </t On cars with struts I usually do it 'in-situ' too, I use spring compressors to take the tension off the area I'm going to cut off (so the springs are 'loose') and then cut away, usually the bit you take off needs to be cut up more for removal. The essential part is to take the tension off the spring...without doing that you could have some pretty scary consequences, also make sure your spring compressors don't slip off too.! ps. This method is performed entirely at your own risk.

That sounds ok to me, if the tension is off the spring it's not too different from cutting a spring off the car like you say. Saves a bit of faffing around too!

Are you cutting the springs in-situ in this pic??? Thats what I was thinking, is that how its often done? looks great now though I've cut plenty of springs in situ, much easier/faster than unbolting struts, ball joint, compressing coils, disassebling struts, cutting spring, reassembling as above, etc!

that looks great! If I'm honest, I was sceptical of this project initially, but seeing it like that, it does look so hard! Loving the bumperless look too. Are you doing anything perforamnce wise? And well done - I'm converted

And well done - I'm converted well I'm glad ive averted your fears lol performance-wise its getting a 3.5 or 4ltr V8 in the spring/summer with plenty of carb-messing to have it hooning at death-like speed! so far the paint jobs cost me about 120 quid and for the money I'm well pleased.
