OK so I picked this up yesterday:
It was less than a mile from my house so that was refreshingly straightforward. The guy had taken it in as a P/X and could not bring himself to scrap it, good on him!
Its had 3 owners from new and is MOT'd till june. The bodywork is in remarkable condition, no rot to speak of:
The bodywork seems to be very original too, there is a little patch on one sill and this arch has had some attention, decent enough job just starting to bubble up a little now though:
I will bosh some waxoyl all over the inside of that to stop it getting any worse.
Apart from that its pretty mint.
Interior is clean and all there:
Engine is also clean and leak-free, engine bay is unmessed-with:
All in all its a very nice little thing for £125. It drives well, steering is light and direct, gearchange is lovely, no clonks or rattles from the suspension. The clutch pedal is a little 'high' so I will keep an eye open on ebay for a cheap clutch kit, i'm sure £20 will secure one if i'm patient. Also the tappets are a little noisy, i will have a look to see if they need adjusting or if the camshaft is worn (could be after 130k) and see what can be done.
It is gonna sit at Ms Bo11ox's place for a while till I can get it down to the workshop, then I will do these jobs and re-MOT it, then I will probably look for someone else to re-home it so if you fancy taking it on drop me a PM.
