Thought I'd pop up a post as I've been trawling through the site over the last few days getting ideas and inspiration... currently have a 1971 clubby- was originally bought for a 16 valve project- which now may or may not happen depending on how persuasive I am with the mrs... if not I'll be sticking some sort of tuned a series in it to replace the rather tired and worn out leaded 1275 that's in it at the moment... Pics of it as I bought it (sandy yellow primer..) and after a quick going over with a dozen tins of matt black from Halfords... And inside.... Tis my second mini- sold my previous one on to my dad at the end of last year.. Before that I had a g reg metro advantage... I'll have to see if I can find a piccy of it.. that was stolen and written of earlier last year.. was using it as daily runabout after the mini had been broken into at the station.. same station the metro stolen from... So yeah.. err.. hello.. ;D

Sweet looking car, although just one criticism - is that *shock horror* a gap in the arches I see?

i have that steering wheel too! :OP a nice mini for sure, get them hi-lo's on bud! lowerit it'll have the right looks/handling, as for the engine A series should be stuck with, thats my preferance, as to spec it just depends what you'd use it for, it'll be a mean looking clubby either way, i'm a massive mini fan anyway, good choice!!!!!

Nice clubby, love the red interior. you got to stick with the A series... but maybe some form of forced induction might be good.

It looks quite good in the pics.. but the paint is far from perfect.. but then to be honest it was put on in about 2 days.. with a 4" dense foam roller and a paintbrush... in my less than dust free garage and alleyway...
But then I wasn't after perfection... and I'm more than happy with the results.. if I'd wanted a concourse car I would have got one in the first place...
Now all I need to do is work out what modifications I'm going to make to the engine... the repaint set me back less than £50 including emery paper for my sander, some tack cloth, and paint prep wipes, a tin of rustoleum and a few rattle cans of satin black.. so hopefully I'll be able to justify the improvements in the go faster area to the mrs by the lack of cash spent making it look pretty
