Hi all - new to the group. I love older RWD Mitsubishis and have been playing around with them, on and off, for the last 30 years. I currently own a this Arrow and an '80 Dodge Challenger. Here's a few photos of my modified '79 Fire Arrow...

The Fire Arrow was supposed to be "the ultimate Plymouth Arrow" with it's gaudy graphics and huge-for-it's-day 2600cc engine. This one's a 5-speed car as well.
The engine has been modified and has twin 44mm Mikuni sidedrafts, a Lunati camshaft, lightened flywheel, Pacesetter header, (all I could get...), with a 2 inch, Flowmaster exhaust system. She runs pretty strong.
I made the rear spoiler and front airdam. Also have a set of Direct Connection fender flares for the car. I'm working on these, (don't like the way they looked from the factory), and hope to have them on the car this Spring.

It must go pretty well with the 2.6! My Celeste is also a 5 speed but ran a 2 litre single carb. I've got a twin carb lump out a sapporo gsr for it now though

Another sweet J/american crossover you have there, it's amazing how different it looks to a Celeste with that front end. Any pics of the rear end, I'd be interested to see what the rear lights are like compared to V8mikes Celeste

Wow cool! Hi!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Thanks you guys. More photos, (of the rear and of the interior), should be forthcoming, thanks again to V8Mike.

Wow! you've gotta love that dash and the seats are sweet as well.

The silver trim on the dash was stock, but very "cheesy" and somewhat plain. When I got the car, the silver aplique had become very brittle from age, was curling around the edges and had started to peel off of the plastic dash insert.
I obtained a sheet of Avery "engine turned aluminum" aplique from a friend, made two separate templates of the dash and center console, then cut it out and applied it. It actually looks much better, (IMO), than they did from the factory.

is it supposed to sit so high? looks like it began life in 4x4 guise!

LOL ;D
No, it is sitting high in the photos and the 14"wheels and tires, (with their offset), make it look all the more "jacked up."
These photos were taken last year, right after I mounted the 14" wheels and tires - and had the rear leaf springs re-arched. The springs have since calmed down a bit and the car does have a pretty decent rake to it.

That has to be one of the BEST rear ends of any car, ever. Louvres and all. Crikey!
