	Hi all As it is Christmas and my partner has just passed her driving test, I though I would be rather generous and get her a car. But no, non of this modern stuff. Her new daily driver is a 1990 VW Jetta 1.6 TX. For those that are on VZI, you may have seen the car on there, it is an ex-woodride (See pic below). Plans are to stuck some german plates on, slam it, get some clear indicators on and get the alloys re-conditioned.

	Nah, shes in to dubs. She was looking at a Golf, but the insurance was a stupid amount of money. I've taken out insurance for it with me and her on it for £724.

	Yeah I'd say you are better off shot of the wood. Looks daft on the outside of all cars other than old Fords, Austin Mini estates and Morris Minor Travellers

	very nice, pretty rare now too in that colour. think the tx was a short-lived uk market special or the badge that replaced the cl circa '85/86. jetta gti looks but more insurance friendly.

	I had one in that colour I put bottle tops and clear indicators on it then sold it when the 4 speed / 1300 combo almost drove me to suicide It was a nice car though and I still see it driving about Sheffield
