Probably not overly retro.... but I thought I'd share my latest acquisition with you guys anyway. The one, the only Suzuki Super Carry, this one's a relatively late model, being 1991, it has the 1000cc 4cyl unit which is UNBREAKABLE, I actually drove this very van as a work vehicle about 5 years back and it endured one hell of a thrashing then!!! Cost me $200, I had to weld some incredibly minor rust and throw on 4 tyres to get it legal, thankfully I had some 13" wheels kicking round, so a quick, rough coat of satin black on the steelies, and away we went! It's a hoot to drive, you need to nail it absolutely everywhere, cornering can be a little bit iffy, I was a little over-exuberant in the wet a week or so ago, and before I knew the back end was trying to overtake me!!! Anyway, some pics!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I say get hold of a Suzuki F6A or K6A engine out of a Cappuccino/Alto Works, slam the suspension to the ground and cover it in oldskool Japanese tuner stickers!

That looks like fun! Will it be a parts chaser (for getting stuff like spark plugs and oil filters ;D) or a 'project'?

Funky - known as the Bedford/Vauxhall Rascal over here - very noisy at motorway speeds and a driver at my Dad's old place swore that the front end lifted up when he once got up to 75mph!
Cappucino engine sounds like fun - a mad, barking little van!

There used to be one here that went about on a set of 4 spoke Ford RS alloys. don't know if they fitted, or he 'made them fit' though. It did look a bit funny.

Honda Acty, and yes me and all me mates still call em sooty vans, i'll take some pics of me dads front garden if i remember cos he loves em, has a few of em laying around and a "bambi" camper on a rascal.
funnily enough he asked me today about bigger wheels and tryes for it, i THINK suzuki swift wheels fit them, but have yet to confirm that.
