Hello all I have been mooching around for a while but have now decided to make myself known because as of this morning my beast is legal for UK roads. I bought Pog's orange MK1 Astra from him in July and have been slowly making it MOT worthy. I have done 90% of the work myself and it has been a great new learning curve. This is my first car and she will be loved with all the student money I posses. I am 18 and have a few plans for it after crimbo: how does a 90mm drop, refurbed wheels and a black bonnet sound? Well I will leave it in your capable hands to throw up some suggestions for change.... Maybe.....?

thats a nice astra! love the style, really subtle, the wheels look nice, i'd paint the spokes black to & leave the rims silver, remove or paint the chrome/silver strips on the grill in satin/matt black, love the orange too! top colour with the black bonnet! stance is good, a gte front spoiler would finish it in my world! nice car, chap!

90mm will need a bit of arch tweakery methinks....great looking car though, black bonnet will really set the orange off IMHO. Maybe rebadge it as an Opel to be different??

Would be careful respraying the bonnet black tbh: unless the rest of the car looks mint you could end up with it looking like you had to replace a shagged bonnet and couldn't find one of the right colour

What size wheels are they? Could do with stretched tyres - they look like BMW BBS's - if they are 15's stick some Smart Car tyres on there.

Cheers fellas liking the stripes idea, maybe in the style of a dodge charger if anyone knows what I'm on about... il post up some pics later if i find any. Pog, did you change the cam in it? It has drawings of the cambelt, timing and 75 horsepower written in the back of the haynes manual... doesnt feel standard either, much quicker than a 1.3 KA and new corsa...
Keep the ideas coming!

Welcome to R-R. Great to see the Astra back on here again, and it looks to be in good hands too..well done! I can't remember which engine this car has, is it the old Chevette derived pushrod engine or an OHC?

Think the 1200 pushrod is a development of the old Opel Kadett engine, not the 1256 lump out of the Shuvit if I'm not mistaken.
