Wow, the climate/winter really takes it's toll over your way. I don't think I've ever seen one half as bad as that underneath, and I've grovelled around beneath quite a few KP's now! Good to hear it's progressing, keep us updated

Its pretty muech down to how much grit/salt we throw on the roads in the winter. That & the fact this one hasn't been driven for 12 years! It's previous owner now lives near Nelson acutally & has a couple of KP's out there, slightly better state than this one though

This week has seen a bit more done, this time to the drivers side inner wing & strut top area, so couple more pics Obviously still some way to go, but it's getting there. Just the rest of this side, the other side strut top, but thats nowhere near as bad as this side & front cross member. After that, I can actually begin building it!!

Structural welding is now complete! Can't beleive how happy I am now knowing it's strong again & it's not facing the crusher! Eight months in the workshop & it's solid for the first time in ten years! Still a very long way to go, but it should be on it's way home this week so I can start chasing the scabby bits of rust away & get it ready to paint the engine bay & bolt the rest together. More pics will follow soon. Just not looking forward to getting the bill for the welding :S

That is an immense amount of work for such a small motor! - kudos for the effort going in. I know what you mean with the never ending rust discoveries - it goes eventually though That strut repair looks a great job - your buddy knows what he's doing thats for certain ;D

By post jack I guess you mean the 2 post lift? I'm not sure how high it'll go, but the posts stand around 7feet high & it's the only lift I can get my gold starlet on without it catching because of how low it is

If you want the dimensions exactly, just give me a shout & I'll measure it up. Hopefully bringing it home tomorrow, well to my parents place as I've managed to borrow a beavertail pick up to make life easier, just need to find space under cover for it now, easier said than done!

Shock horror-I've acutally done something to it! Cleaned & primed the engine bay, so ready for 'normal' primer, then painting. New brake pipes have been made & are ready to fit, there was one small hole on the inner wing, so I'm very proud of myself & welded it up, so ready for the other wing to go back on now. Would really like to get it painted & engine in & running over Christmas if I can. Shonky phone cam pic of 'bay:
