Haha! It's been a long and tortured decision making process as to whether we should do any more radical bodywork modifications whilst the car is in its current state - moving the fuel filler was top of the list of possibilities. In the end I've just settled on re-profiling the lip at the back of the rhs sill to reduce the rust trappiness of the area under the filler neck as I had the sill apart anyway Incidentally, we formed all the repair panels for the sill out of sheet steel, and the back end is made from a Porsche 914 decklid I had lying about, so I think the car needs a VW-Porsche badge from said vehicle now ;D

Good work AHD! In that last pic, I'm surprised how much it looks like a Mk1 Fiesta when you remove all the trim!

everyone says that I keep looking for the Polo advert with the Fezza on it that says "just because it looks like a Volkswagen, it doesn't mean it is one." ;D

Progress report These photos are out of date already as there's a lot more gubbins back on the car now. It's got all of its interior back now along with most of the other bits of curse word that hang on the outside. There's a problem with the lacquer to rectify on the passenger door where the buffer disintigrated and scutched it but apart from that it's looking really good. I've got a new, stock GT exhaust for it now which should mate up with everything OK, and the Facet fuel pump is installed. I've been and got enough bolts to screw the carbs on properly as well. That leaves: fuel pressure regulator choke cable throttle cable sort the last of the paint re-fit rear bumper wire in the engine and the electronic ignition fit the exhaust find some sort of air filter gubbins re-connect the front indicators That should be it theoretically. Then I can have my car back ;D Big thanks to Graeme again for all his hard work

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts
