see andy, told u that golf wheels should fit on clios! Not exactly... the renault wheels have a larger centre bore, so you can se spiggot rings to bridge the gap, but doing it the other way you'll need to enlarge the centre bore on the wheel which means golf wheels on a clio is harder than clio wheels on a golf.

are you gonna remove the massive side strips? they look kinda out of place with no arches? no. I've got CL spats inplace so they look like any other not GTi/Driver spec car of that era. I actually like the "fat mouldings" better than anyother. Anyway, after a frantic weekend (and a big hand from Papworth) the golf currently looks like this:

Oh... and ths is the BBS bodykit I collected at the weekend. think of painting it black and putting it on the car. would look something like this: although my kit has the 16V front airdam with the brake duct vents at the bottom.

I'm sure one of the GTi boys will tell me. yeah, it's called the "Zonker" it was a VW of North America Demo vehicle with just about every option available and more. It was a 16V G60, BBS bodykit, Wheels, heated leather etc. it was mad. I'll try and dig out a picture of the inlet manifold. picture a VW 16v intake but with an intercooler core "hacked" into it. it it pure porn, i love it!

bit of a flattering shot of it there, but hey ;D Still gotta sort spacers out so the alloys stop looking like micro machine wheels in those arches.

Nice car. I've just sold my 1.6 Driver and I'm having major withdrawal symptoms.
Nice to see someone doing something genuinely diferent with a MKII Golf. I gave up reading Pervy VW a while ago because all the cars featured were more or less the same and whether your car is cool or not seems to depend on who you are rather than what you've done to it.

Nail/head PVW recently had a "mk2 Madness" issue. I hate the fact that there are no new ideas in the VW world. It seems that all you need to do to get a car featured is do what everyone else does, but paint it in a different Audi Factory Special paintcode and get someone expensive to paint it. It's merely down to how well executed your boring ideas are. I say screw that, try to actually create a car that is different (without being different for the sake of being different) that isn't the shiniest car in the world and doesn't have leather stitched into it's heater vents. just good fun. The Paul Mk2 Manifesto.

The Paul Mk2 Manifesto. Where do I sign? If you're American, having a MKII with a TDi in in a dull colour is cool. If you're German, covering the bonnet in faux fur is das gut. Belgian, stick an Audi grille on. French, garlic in the glovebox and Porsche rims. British, spend 4 grand on paint, lob on the same rims as the rest, leather interior, job done. I still want a mint MKII GTi. I want one with big bumpers, 15" rims, a stock interior and an inch or two out of the ride height. I don't want Audi doorhandles (it's not an Audi), I don't want a Merc Sprinter vent in the front wing (I don't do deliveries), And I don't want anything from an Audi TT on the same bloody street. If I wanted an Audi I'd buy one.

As has already been said, well done for thinking out of the box. Mk2's are so over done at the moment and are all basically the same. Look forward to seeing the bbs kit on, won't be to everyone's taste but it'll be cool all the same.
