Picked it up last weekend, whatta car... Amazing bit of kit. Just jumped in the car and drove it all the way from London to Glasgow, and it never missed a beat. This is the only pic I have of her, but everything works and she is ultra ultra solid. The service history is very complete and it has been a cherished car throughout it's life....Coverd 120k, and had a shed load spent on it, keeping it upto scratch... Comments please...

Needs teledials Great buy, dude *n I had the option of Teledials or the Cup 1's... I just love the cups they fill the arches. Keefy, I have a CD Rom of the 944 Workshop manual. PM me your address and I will burn a copy of it and stick it in the post for you. I am sure it give's an exploded diagram of the handbrake mechanism. The handbrake works shoes that are inside the drum, you know that? It's pretty similar to a standard beetle setup and does not use the disk brake calipers at all for the handbrake. Sorry if you know this already mate... But as I say PM me...

I thought cup 1's were 16x7..?
If you're lucky, you might stumble on some 16x8 flavour teledials...
I can honestly say that if I found some, I would buy them...even if I had nothing to put them on.

Is the handbrake mechanism not inside the disc in a small drum set up? It is on the 911, and I thought the 944 too. Its been a while since I last had a 944, so I really cant remember. Next, the cups are ace! Teledials are are anything but the wheel of choice in Porsche circles. Are they popular on VW's now? Id have thought they would be both cheap and easy to get a hold of?

Teledials are are anything but the wheel of choice in Porsche circles. I know. A shame really as they're a fantastic wheel. They're not that hard to get hold of in 15x7 flavour...But 16x8s are like hens' teeth. *n

Ah, of course! the 7x15's are from the 944 and the 8x16 from the 911 and 928 right? Still, hens teeth, that amazes me. I wish I'd bought loads when you couldnt give them away was I right Keefy? Is the handbrake a drum thing? Or am I barking up an entirely different tree all together?

Detailed Fuchs look great on 944s, chromed spokes black background. Or for a modern wheel I like the RH Cup ZW2.

I wish I'd bought loads when you couldnt give them away It gets rather confusing... 6x15 and 7x15 were on 944s... ...7x16 and 8x16 were on 928s for about eight months only... and they came as staggered sets. *n

Cheers for all the replies guys. This is the first car that I have had that I have no urge to modify whatsoever. Sweet ride and good turn of pace, as it's a 16v it needs to be wound up tho and the power does not kick in till after 4k RPM...
