Clubman 1275gt - 1972

i just hate they way clubbys get pushed to the back behind the roundnose mini's i think there a better looking car, hence why i have a GT,
should defo have a site dedicated to them.
that picture with the two of the cars is brilliant, very tasty cars indeed, good photography too!
as u can see the pic of mine on the previous page is a terrible picture, shame i wasnt where u were the day u took that, would have had a white black and a blue one in the picture!

also, whats rims are on the black one? not mini orientated i imagine after the engine swap?

well the way they look has now got me in the mind of doing a set of them up so i can dry store my revolutions for the winter as the lacquer peels if left in the rain

the size of the wheel? ie 13x5 or 13x6 or x7?
what size tyres are used?? 175/50/13??
How were they finished so well? home-made jobby?
were the rims left silver and just painted the spokes black and lacquered??

i think the metty rims are 14s mate. they were a DIY job if i remeber rightly.

the going rate for a clubman is cheaper than a GT as there more sought after.
prices range from anything between spares/repair - £200
to full blown back to original £6000
i bought mine for £1300 and ive done some work to it, brand new interior, new arches, stage 1 1275 engine and more on the way, gettin rebuild with a lairy cam and stage 3 head, 1.5 roller rockers, straight cut drop gears and centre main strap. should push about 85-90 bhp once ive finished and about as much torque.

something like that i wouldnt let go for less than £2k, just out of the money ive spent on it, plus an engine rebuild costs a grand these days and u would be buying a genuine '79 GT!

all depends what u want, u pay for what u get!

They're metro GTa rims on the black VTEC one...175/50 R13 IIRC ...Should be able to check a set i have later
