Mark, that would be the reason you were not at wheels day, I saw Diffy in the distance, Are you running mechanical cam or Hyd,?? Just a thought, as if you were having pocket problems, surely you would have interferance probs with all 8 valves, not just 1, Just thinking along the lines of Pumpup, and a dirty or dodgy lifter. or possibly a pushrod popping out of either its lifter or cup in the rocker and then bending the valve, I bet you are using big fat molly pushrods too, think I would be checking them fot straightness too, Good luck mate. Ian it has hit all 8 but that was the worst one, luckily no other damage other than the valves but they are expensive enough and yep it got molly pushrods takes a fair bit to bend them ;D its a hydraulic roller cam with roller rocker all pretty new gear so no dirt involved the roller cams are zero lash but use about a 20thow gap whilst being run in I had just set the engine up ready for the pro test day at the pod on the 15th so zeroed the lash on the rockers when it went . funnily I have run the heads on the old engine which had an E303 roller cam with no probs and it wasn't till after it happened I realized why it did it the E303 has .498 lift so the valves would have run very close but no contact the F303 has .512 lift so puts the valves directly in the path of the pistons which wouldn't have been a problem if the valve pockets had been the size I had ordered ie for 2.02" inlet instead of 1.7" . I would have been at wheels day in the viva had it not chucked a wobbler Mark, what you got the cam degreed in at?? can you wind it off a couple of degs so the valves are shutting a gnats earlier??

todays progress pretty much just checking stuff over and stripping the body down ready for sorting the paintwork : : : : : : theres not alot of repairs to do but due to the paint being custom mix and not having enough left i'm going to respray the whole car in a new set of colours . the basic colour scheme will stay the same but there will be a few differences and some additions

messing about with the air brush with something i've always wanted to try ,real flames first attempt not exactly how i want it yet but not bad for first go what do ya think? the car still needs painting yet so it will all be sanded off again but while it was on the old paint i thought i'd have a practice : : : : : : : the finished version will be a bit bigger and involve the dash board as well

Had me going too mate. Flames look really good for a first attempt. I couldn't get them that good after 200 attempts

Good grief! Turn your back for a few minutes and the thing's been stripped back again!
Those flames are truly excellent.

Now, I'm slightly gutted that I never saw this in the steel in its current guise, especially that you couldn't make Wheels Day... BUT...
Flames will make this car about infinity times cooler. And now I can't wait even more (can wait even less?...) to see it. Legend ;D

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

the flames look great for your first go, how many shades did you have to use?? they could look brilliant with a bit of airbruch tidying with black paint if that makes sense?
