I've owned this for about 2 years now as my daily driver, and it's quite possibly the best car I've ever owned for taking on long jouneys. I origionaly bought it to take the girlfriend and I on a two week tour of scotland last year, 1800 miles in two weeks with no problems at all and a very respectable fuel economy, It's actually better on fuel than a friends 525i and with the "sport" mode engaged on the auto box it's fun as well. I normaly don't like auto's much but this is far from dull and suits the 6 cylinder engine perfectly.
Anyway pics...
As collected, already had 18" wheels on but the ride height was sky high and the wheels were badly scuffed.
Crystal indicators and Inpro "Angel eye" projector head lights fitted. As it's a factory "shadowline" the only chrome on the car was the grill so that was stripped and treated to a touch of black paint to match the rest of the trim. I also bought a pair of real carbon fibre badges to tidy it up.
Pi lowering springs fitted, highly recomended for 7 series, Now it handles like a much smaler car.
New suspension bits required
Rear axle bushes were well gone....
Rear axle bushes in (power flex)
Noltec "softride" front suspension bushes installed in rear arms and brand new front arms fitted
New front bushes on
New wheels, I bought 2 sets of Genuine M3 wheels and tyres, fronts 8"x18" and rears 9"x18" and then sold all 4 front wheels to an E36 (3 series) owner for almost the same price I paid for all eight! Now I run 9"x18" all round! ;D
Interior, Black leather fully electric (inc headrests). heated seats, climate control, 10 speaker stereo to which I've added 2 kenwood amps and a 12" infinity Kappa sub' 10 disc multichanger and period kenwood head unit.
Engine is completly standard but I did replace the head gasket and water pump as a precaution, whilst the head was off you could see the origional hoaning marks in the cylinder boars ( not bad for 170,000 miles
And finally as it is now...
