Just found this place and thought I would post up pics of my old cars. Some of the pics are a bit iffy due to a mix up with films.
This started out as a bog standard poverty spec 1.6N 4 speed.
I fitted a 2.0 head with an unknown hi lift cam and a weber 32/36 DGAV carb, threw away the airfilter, housing and rear silencer(replaced with a 3" slashcut tailpiece) A set of bargain £30 Recaros with matching rear seats were fitted along with all the glass from a Berlina. I also retro fitted chrome bumpers and wired up a Manta exclusive dash. The springs were 300lb lowered items with 2 coils removed and KYB gas shox fitted. I bought a set of 5(2 7x13 and 3 6x13) revies for £80 and removed the indicator lense in the headlights.
The back end was mega low geared so it ran out of puff at 95mph but kept up with 205 Gti 1.6's from a standstill upto 95 and blew 2.0 Manta GTE's away.
It kept shearing propshat bolts and one night the prop put a hole in the diff so after some banging some silicone in the hole I found a low mileage manta axle and had it all set up to completley replace the drivetrain with a 6cyl and 5sp when I sold it. I couldn't go anywhere with it(too low) and the neighbours were complaining about the noise(103dB @1mtr from the exhaust in open air when doing 3,000rpm)
Stock v Lowered. Ground clearance stock was 8", I had 2" at chassis
