Firstly - I do like what you're doing! ( ) It's certainly a breath of fresh air in a scene that is getting rather too secular of late. What I would do in your instance is to put the bonnet back as it was and ditch the 'scoops' on the bonnet. They will only add drag and increase under-bonnet pressure along with under-bonnet lift. Replace them with a few rearwards-pointing louvres. This will allow air to escape to the low-pressure area on the front/middle of the bonnet, reduce under-bonnet lift, keep drag low and look UBER COOL! Cheers mate The vents and standoff are here to stay, Ive seen a few Mk2s with them run 11second 1/4s without lift... and they cooled nicely from speaking to the owners. Physics are the baisis but reality often says otherwise. And Louvres? Thats a bit too 1998 MaxPower featured Dimma 306 for me Thanks for the input tho I was thinking more 1938 Armstrong-Siddley Granny-Nobber-Sideboard-Truncation Special *n

Top grammar tips! Bought = purchased. Brought = relocated Lose = misplace/opposite of win. Loose = your mum

I'm in talks with a cage builder about fitting my cage, needs to be strong but not to visible, so gonna have doorbars that bend out into the appeture of the door and run the support post down the a b and c pillars, two rows at the back with possibly a removal diagonal That way I can trim some of the excess metal outta it I know a cage is gonna add weight but I can see me ending up either on its side or on its roof at some point if I'm perfectly honest

if your serious about putting it on a track then a cage and some good seats/belts should be top of the list

really? shame, it was really starting to look interesting and a definate 'out-of-the-box' motor, when comparing it to the run of the mill E38-style "if it's not oak green and 90 spec, it's wibblepoo" way of thinking. Whether the bonnet was for cooling, looks or both i really liked it and thought it a nice nod to the aircooled generation.
be sure to put a link up to the auction if you go through with it!

Gonna break it now, don't have time to finish it, lost intrest in it completely and just knocked loads of rust out from underneath it and I don't have the time to spend welding it up
Sad day
