Very nice. If you can make it too the meet were trying to organise for a sunday in August I'd love to see any of those turn up. (see "who's near wiltshire?" thread in the events & meets section)

no the saloon was not in cc mag...
the capri is or corse the only colour....!
we have cars any colour we want as long as its MATT BLACK!! he he.
i will try to get to the meetup but maybe not the first 6th though as i am moving all my cars into a new garrage that weekend... altho if i can get there i will.

thats what reminded me about the site here i used to view the forum but never signed up till lately.. dunno why i did not ages ago just busy on others i suppose..
about storage well best u ask about the local farms to u that is usually the best bet..
my place is near shepton mallet.. u are welcome to come and have a lookaround but it maybe too far away for you..?
but i know a few people in your area that i could ask...? must be someone with some space cheep enough.

I've got a few more to ring. Shepton mallet is a lot closer than where it is right now (Swansea!). If you know anyone round here that you could ask that will be great. In the mean time I'll get on to the farms again. If I get no joy I may well be looking out as far as Shepton Mallet. |

hi SilverMachine
the rear wheels on the black coupe are triumph..... it has a tr7 axle at the moment.
when my other mate had it it had a 2l pinto... then a 5.2l mopar v8 in mild tune.. running a cortina front clip, a type9 ford gearbox.. and then the std 1256 axle eventually gave way.. he had a tr7 one laying about so that went in...!
and after the v8 went pop it had a isuzu diesel bolted to a nissan gearbox!!!!
ha ha. it was always a bitsa.. very mutilated but NO RUST..! the front wings and bonnet were modded and the front panel was removed when it had the tina front clip fitted (4 inches further forward..)
and so we have been getting it back to std first body wise before we go on the lookout for an engine for it..

some more pics of the capri and a quick rundon on the spec... i4.photobucket.com/albums/y144/realwheeldriver/IMG_1530_1.jpgi4.photobucket.com/albums/y144/realwheeldriver/IMG_1484_1.jpg1600 laser with rover 3.5 v8. heads skimmed coposite gaskets, sd1 manifolds, modified inlet manifold with a 38dgas carb, ford 2.8 type9 gearbox. seperate stainless pipes per side through 2" strait through silencers and exiting before rear wheels, crome 70's jackup plates on the rear. pollybushes on front and rear, spax on rear, rusty banded wheels (rear 9inch wide with 235 tyres, front 7 inch wide with 205's) jacked bonnet, rs3.1 ducktail spoiler cut and modded to fit... it was quite quick and loads of fun on the 1600 gearing. but always had problems overtaking esp' in the wet even short shifting to fith u had to feather the throttle or it would just wheelspin getting nowhere..lol in the dry though it would give most scooby's etc a good run. si |
