Say hello to my new daily. I wanna keep this one for a little bit. Plans are to get shot of the alloys, (that should hopefully sort out the handling a bit), de-rot, mirror polish the original wheels and stick it on some whitebands, no lowering and maybe some mild motor molestation/tarting. It's definitely a slab of 80's cool and for a 20-year-old car that's pretty much how it was when it left the factory, it shifts Pic:

These are awesome. One of my favourite 1980s J-cars.
Sadly, here in Australia, they are beloved of ricers and barrys who keep the prices unreasonably high and the cars themselves covered in fibreglass of the most questionable taste.

Looks very modern for a B reg. Retro? yes practical? yes ? yes, Classic? I'd say but its arguable ;D

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

its a modern classic, but yeah I'd say so. Brilliant cars, and the reason I found this place , Mr HoTWire has a soft spot for em, they handle like a cart and go like the wind. There's not a lot out there to match them for sheer fun!

We suffer the same fate as Aussie when it comes to CRX's. Swags of them were THE car to have in the mid 90's as far as the boyracers (Barry's) went, and many a CRX met with a solid object unfortunately. I quite dig em, only if they're done TASTEFULLY ie. no wings, giant chrome wheels and so forth. Weigh 2 tenths of sweet FA and go accordingly

Mugen kit, burt orange metallic paint, deep dish good offset alloys in black. Otherwise, no kit and no 17's, they upset the handling

Yup, as said, it's going to be stock as an Oxo cube apart from polished original rims, whiteband tyres and maybe some engine fettling. NO bodykit, NO stupid wheels, NO scrub radius-destroying rims, NO boom-boom stereo etc Just clean, cool, tasteful and quick.

Mmmm - not sure about practical? Show us a picture of the back seat ;D Definately reliable & great fun to drive though - I also love the 'wide as it is long' looks A mate had a rather nice white one - he much prefered the way it drove over the MK1 MR2 that replaced it - mind you he got emotionally attached to it which probably clouded his judgement

I lobbed a couple of bids in on this this morning, 1.5 injection, I presume mechanically its the same as a CRX?

Yup, same motor. Although I'm not sure if it's got the glass fibre wings like the CRX, would be cool if it did!!

Cool. I've seen very few about on the roads. They all look nice because wings, front clip and a few other little bits are glassfiber. Light and rot-proof!! Although they've probably got the same safety spec as a popadom.
