Ok now that the majority of you have seen the car that i'm trying to claim is a 'retro of the future' I can do my first real Readers Ride thread. Please be gentle, I do love her even if not everyone else does. Spec- 1100 Sporting with K&N Pancake induction kit, full Powerflow 'neighbour pestering' exhaust system, Spax sports springs all round, relocated badges n other random curse word. Oh and the most subtle Viper-Stripes ever!!! Barely visible infact. Got a few plans if I keep it, want my 1/4 mile time down in the 17's by next summer but I think I might be being too hopeful there. Yeah i'll shut up now and show some pictures. P.S If anyone has any pictures from CARS of the little beastie could you PM them please because I was an idiot and forgot my camera.

I like it too - nice n subtle, not Barry'd like many Cinquecento's. The Cinq is also one of th few modern-ish cars with a dcent amount of character.

I look foward to it mate been looking at some bits n bobs tonight for it, gonna save my pennies and spend a bit on it when I can to get the rollerskate skating faster! Thanks Sam, not as clean as your Bug yet but you never know, by next summer it might be half way there.

My god, you've read my mind rmad, I was dozing in bed this morning thinking I should get up and that idea popped into my head. I was thinking kind of a gun-metal colour? Would that work d'you reckon?
Thanks for all the nice comments people, last night after seeing all the wide range of 70's and 80's metal I was seriously thinking of trading it in. But i've woken up fresh this morning and i'm gonna keep it and see if I can release some of that potential to prove a 90's car can be just as cool.
Reanimation, you should give it ago mate, such a laugh and it feels much faster than what you're doing, I felt like I was doing 80ish when I wasn't even touching 70 lol.

Nice one Will - Cinquicentos are great! They might not be 'Retro' in age but they certainly have 'Retro' spirit, as they are devoid of features that colour the driving experience in most modern cars - such a PAS and sound deadening. The small size and the awareness of whats happening around you outside means you can enjoy the thrill of driving without actually travelling that fast I kept meaning to come over & say hi at CARS, but whenever our paths crossed you were either chatting to someone else or sitting at the bottom of the drag strip waiting for oil to be cleaned off the track

Yeah i agree with derbydan, plus a great first car. I quite like the colour scheme too, gunmet grey would work or even nightmares style brave orange? I always thought you'd need summat super powerful to have a go on the strip, and all my dailys have been curse word and/or slow! LOL Retro show is a good place to start though, perfect atmosphere.

If you decide to palm in on, give me a shout, I've fancied one as a tool about car for a while now. I personally love them, low and wide seems to work well on them Proof that everything has potential, except MKV escorts and MKIII fiestas

I imagine that must be quite a h00t to drive I concur with Dr R.Mad that the black wheels are FtW. Although something after-market with some dish, and some offset, and some poished lip and some black centre would be FTMFW!!

Planning on doing the dark coloured wheels since thats not far off free then next on the list is either a Fast Road Cam or Coilovers, both big money for someone on my income though lol. Dan- I didn't even see you, I was keeping an eye out too your White Camper on the stand I take it? Look the absolute plums Cappuccino- Will do mate! reanimation- It helps that I have no shame, couldn't give a sod if people were laughing or whatever, all will be forgotten by the time the next cars go down. nvm- Might have to look at that, thanks for the tip. Thanks for all the positive comments

Nice little car! My sister has had a Cinq for years but it's only a small engined 'SX' model, 900cc or something, great fun to drive though. I still amuse myself if I ever drive it with the steering lock, it literally will turn around on a sixpence so to speak. The only problem as far as I'm concerned with my sisters one if that it's a metallic pinky colour, I still don't mind driving it though! ;D

don't wanna be rude but hows this retro, ive recently bought a 1996 fiesta to run into the ground daily, but its hardly retro, maybe I'm getting grumpy in my old age. give it another 20 years to mature (although knowing fiats all that will remain is a pile of dust) and then post it up.
