Very neat, good work Slater. A shining example of what this place is about I'd say.
Back when I started driving in the late 80's these seemed to be the first car of choice, my sister included. Never thought I'd be seeing them like this 18 years later.

I want to give it more 'GO'! i have the bits but I'm short on workshop space to attulay do the work (my plans are a little more involved than a simple swap.) so its on hold at the moment.

This is an example of the 'knowledge not money' theory. It is absolutely possible to build cars like this time and time again...a cool base with a few choice mods. It's easy when you know how.

Basicly what I'm building is a xr2 crossflow with a 1800 fiesta diesel crank to make it up to 1800cc (it might even be more with a +90 overbore). That will all be mated to an rsturbo LSD box which i have divised a bit of a trick method of making fit.
and theres some stuff to do on the suspension (antiroll bar and adustible camber/castor/panhard rod) ,cant dicide wether to rose joint it all or try and keep it more civilised.
the 1100 is pretty nippy but i cant leave anything alone
