I gained another Skoda today, which is a bit rough in places, but it was free and seems to be fairly solid. It's in the queue of Skodas to be restored. I'm gonna be posting some pics soon...but first of all I want to say a great big THANKYOU to Tom..[TCS Performance]. He drove his retro car transporter from near Stansted, picked me up from Gt Shelford,Cambs where I work and collected the Estelle for me from the other side of Thetford,Norfolk. CHEERS MATE!

Good to see someone else acquiring cars. Thought of you Skoda people when I saw a very tidy F-plate coupe on my hol's in Kent/Sussex yesterday, it was one the move so sadly no pic.
Bluebird is interesting, especially as it's fairly close. Is that likely to be up for grabs soon?

That Bluebird looks like a RWD...Darren? You're right, it is (despite looking much like the FWD U11 Bluebird which followed it). It's a facelift one, so different trim inside and I think they only did the 1.8 engine by this time and if it's manual it'll probably be a 5-speed. Similar IRS as previous Bluebirds, and up front you've got a steering rack at last and vented discs. Not desperately quick as standard, but the usual CA18ET/SR20 turbo upgrades are applicable. Edit: Apologies for taking this off-topic! DaveRapid, if you could let me know the guy's contact details I'd be grateful, ta.

I once had a bluebird 2.0GL was ok i guess. kept taking out front drive shaft gators. (wasnt power steering) It was a nice comparison between the skoda 105L i had at the time.

I've not taken any pics yet, but I've been pretty busy on this lovely old car. It's been off the road for a few years, and when I tried to start it up I found the engine had seized! Anyway I stripped it down, found that number 3 piston rings had rusted up. I have a scrap 130 engine in my spares depo so I knicked a piston/rod assembly from it, fitted it all up with new gaskets and tried to start it. Unfortunately the starter was faulty,so a hunt through my spares revealed a brand new one! Threw that on and the engine roared into life...it's a little peach! Also the drivers door catch had seized....have you ever tried laying inside a car in blistering heat trying desperatly to unseize a door catch...remembering the door was firmly shut!! Talk about sweat!! Anyway...getting there slowly!
