Pushed it out the garage today and fitted the monster bling alloys I'm presently selling on ebay (runs out Sunday at 8pm) What do you think? I didn't think they looked too bad, better than expected anyway.

Hey they don't look as bad as i'd have thought! Not a fan of big wheels as a rule though. So what will she be rolling on once they have sold on ebay? Have you had chance to do anything on her lately?

I was hoping for some RS 7 spokes but the ones I had were buckled beyond economical repair.
I have some aftermarket 15" alloys at the moment that'll do in the meantime but I'd like some cosworth latice alloys on it. Hopefully they'll cover the 2wd cosworth 4-pots I have sat in the garage on modified hubs.
I occaisionaly get a bit more done on the head every now and then but the Cortina has priority at the moment.
How's yours coming along?

Yeah but it would drive like a load of sh1t. The car has top notch suspension on it and it would be silly to spoil it with over sized wheels wearing rubber band tyres that just throw the car about over every road iregularity. The best thing I did was take them off the Sierra and put 14" alloys on with tyres with some sidewall. (the ones fitted to the Escort in my sig pic in fact)

True, but the one time I did have it back on the road (with mighty CVH power) it went round the local roundabout as well as my 4x4 Cavalier did and that wasn't a cr@p car in the handling stakes.
Saying that, the Cav was totaly stock!

They say 16" tops for these Escorts but that's only if you either have very large brakes or just like paying more for your tyres.

i think 15"wheels are good for all brake set ups apart from the focus rs ones

not so keen on the wheels...
what about those ford wheels with the four sort of circle things on them? a banded set of those would look cool

Ah, the old clover leafs! It originaly had a set of those on it. Unfortunately, when I upgraded the front brakes to Series 2 RS Turbo/Sierra XR4x4 spec they would no longer fit over the new callipers. This is odd as the 14" dogslegs alloys from the mk4 XR3i did fit. The internal diameter is obviously slightly bigger.
