Picked this up a few weeks ago, but what with moving house and other such joy... it got MOT'd and Tax'd last Friday... It needs a little attention to the styling, but otherwise it's lovely... 108k Miles, 3 Previous owners... To Do: Remove 'Big' rear bumper and refit original 'Small' bumper. Remove Mk4 Style GTI badges from front Wings. Remove LED Side repeaters and refit more tasteful OEM style ones. Remove Single Headlamp Grille, replace with original 4-lamp GTI Grille Remove Body Colour roof spoiler, replace with black one. Wheels: Potentiall repaint the Hockenheims in Black or fit G60/Passat 15" Steel Wheels

Please bring this back from the brink - looks like you saved it just in time. Its amazing how many MK2s you see with Hockenheims and one big bumper!! Take it you've already removed both England flags?

Hmm nice! If you can be bothered I'd remove the rear spoiler completely but would need new rear window for that but adds to sleek look. Personally I'd keep the two lamp grille as I think they work better with small bumpers, four lamp ones seem to work better with the big bumpers but all a matter of taste of course!

I want to make it as close to stock as possible... kind of OEM+, so small bumpers, 4 lamp grille w/badge!
I've got most of the necessary bits to do it too...
It's also got a custom Spax suspension setup on it too.... which is nice.

Nice car and a good base for a project. Personally i'd fit half tint later rear lights, tinted front indicators and OEM style clear sides or possibly tinted too, small bumpers, an original single headlamp grille with proper trim, and 15inch steels in silver. I'd also lose the passenger side mirror. Not my car though... These early A and B platers are starting to become rare, so no irreversible mods please ;D

If only everything in life was as cool as a retro VW racer.

This one's a 'C' Plater sadly?!?
It did come with an 'A' Plate 'spares' car though.. needs a fair bit of TLC to get it on the road though...
will probably shift that on to someone after a nice project!

Looks good, I'd go for four lamp grille, small bumpers and maybe G60 steels or even original 14 inch steels as they look decent with low suspension.
Don't see many silver ones anymore, so I'd keep it looking nice and original... 'standard' is the new 'modified' you know... ;D
