Found this Scala for my F-in-L for £50, with a big long list of faults from an inspection by C&R Enterprises.
After fixing just the few that actually mattered using bits from my 'stock' of spares, he ran it for six months of 'summer fun', then it became my daily driver.
For 18 months it has taken much abuse, as my work involves a lot of unmade roads and access tracks, so quite spectacularly failed the MOT... Knackered wheel bearings, suspension and steering (Testers words: "Have you heard this rack? It's f**ked!" )
The engine was also getting a bit tired at 150k miles, so plan hatched: Despite having no time due to demands on wife and 2 year old twin boys, plus other projects I haven't got around to, the Scala would go into the garage, and emerge some time later sporting a 16v engine and all the nice bits I have been amassing for 3 years (I have also mildy modded Rocco GT over the past few years).
Bit lacking on pictures 'as was'... Earlier mock ups of eventual wheel choices:
Errr... car (and, unfortunately, me ) at last years Rocco Mafia photoshoot meet (we decided to do the whole 'suited and booted' thing to tie in with the name):
NB Piccy courtesy of the rather talented Rob Telford, website www.cybertects.co.uk
And so it doesn't feel left out, especially as it is back to being my daily driver, the GT (nearest camera):
More to follow...
