With regards to the Undesirables display, got let down by quite a few people. It was going to be the best display so far this year. I understand people not being able to make it (and Dan had his fair share of problems, of course) so thats why there were so few cars. I am seriously thinking about knocking it on the head anyway... it was at the back as I considered it a little unfair to be upfront as the other SnS people had paid... etc, etc
...which leads me to the costs... As everyone will know, its not cheap to rent a place like Bruntingthorpe, and even though people have said it costs a couple of grand a day (thats probably hire of the track on a mid-week date even then I seriously doubt it) it was a LOT more than that I can tell you, I saw the invoice!!! Think 20k!
I won't bleat on about all the costs, which will inevitibly get passed on - fact of life - but points taken. People moan about the price every year, and even though many other car shows (not neccasarily VW) cost more, we think its a fair price. Any business strives to make a profit and there are very few areas where we can actually achieve this - believe it or not. Granted, the sprint prices need looking at as well as the SnS fees. My opinions are known to the top bods...
I am also hoping to pass on the Show n Shine manager job to someone with more time and ability to make it truly suceed. So if anyone knows anyone...
