Its an original Hella accessory grille for a Mk1 Jetta. Never got round to fitting the badge, but there are small holes to hold it in place. Is your's going to Inters?

The grille looks ace, didn't realise it was an original accessory. Most likely won't be going to Inters as pretty sure I've got other things on that weekend (17th/18th?) like attending boring weddings etc... bah!  Get plenty of pics! |

Weller steels (7x13 et17) arrived this morning courtesy of Philj - cheers mate ;D - currently white, so gotta decide what colour to paint them. Ideas? Thinking tyres will be 175/50/13 as they should be easy enough to get I hope. I'll try one on tonight after i've picked it up from the garage. Wonder if Jettadeluxe is going to Inters - need to get the cars parked side-by-side  |

I'm only going on the Saturday  Pics:   At the moment its looking like matt black for the wheels - quick and easy for the time being Unless i do them steel grey Been pricing up tyres - £45 to £65 a pop for reasonable 175/50/13's fitted. Other local place will get me some prices on monday for some cheaper makes - its not exactly a race car, so can't see the point in spending a fortune on fancy tyres so i'll see if i can get hold of something reasonable and CHEAPER  More pics when somat else changes - that'd be next week then ;D |

Choices are: matt black / gloss black / steel grey / red oxide / white. Don't really wanna make em rusty as they are in good condition, so would be a shame to ruin them Only got this week to get it ready, so running out of time.....i actually like the idea of red oxide the more i think of it ;D |

I've just finished sanding them down and i've sprayed the backs satin matt black, but i've got a fresh can of gloss black sat there doing nothing and not enough satin left to do the rest of the wheels....hmmmmmm ;D After last nights heavy rain the bonnet looks great - nice, fresh, colourful deep rust. Might laquer it so that rust doesn't get over everything when it rains and makes the rest of the car start to rust too. Right, off to the lockup to dig my roofrack out |

Right, tyres are becoming a pain to sort. 175/50's are bloomin expensive and hard to come by, whereas 175/60's are MUCH cheaper and easier to get. Will they still look as good though? The Wellers are 7inch wide and have a ET17 offset. Currently its on 5.5inch steels with at least a ET35 offset (can't remember off the top of my head). The fronts do catch the arches on lock. I'm slightly concerned that it will be under geared if i fit 50's and i'll never be able to go on the motorway  but i don't want clearance issues with slightly taller tyres, and i want it to look good too . So, what do we think, 50's or 60's??? If anyones got a pic of a car or wheel fitted with 175/60/13's that'd be great. |

Ordered a set of cheapo 175/ 60/13's - £32 a pop. I compared one against a 175/ 70/13 and it looked a lot wider and shorter so i rekon it should look ok, hopefully . I've got friday off work, so gotta spend the day getting the car ready - getting tyres fitted, painting wheels, swapping bonnet over and doing a few other odds and sodds. Fitted the roofrack and removed the headrests tonight amongst other things. More pics soon. |

I laquered mine the other evening, but ran out of cans so will finish it today - made the rust go dark which is a shame as it was a lovely orange colour, but don't wanna ruin the rest of the car any more than it already is!!! Day off work today, so jobs to do include: Get tyres fitted to new rims and finish painting them. Fit rusty bonnet and rusty chrome wipers. Fit clear front indicators (just for a change). Get it ready for tomorrows journey from Blackburn to Leicester. Pics will come later ;D P.S. I've only copied someone else, so i won't be accusing anyone of copying... I saw a pic of a rust hoodride Notch on another thread and it gave me an idea.... |

) the red Jetta back from my mums last night, replaced the fuel pipes, gave it a once over and a quick clean and then took it for a spin ;D Its got its MoT tomorrow, so fingers crossed - need it ready for Undesirables 
display at International. Pics:
