I wish that workshop was at my house but it's at my mates. Jenn, i'll pop it down when the wheels are on and the exhaust and carb too when i've finished i don't mind getting stuck in if you want to have a few weekends on yours? Its just settling down on the new sus at the mo, seems to have improved the handling no end but i think i'm running a bit too much neg camber at the front. and now its lower the exhaust catches the speedbumps at work. Oh Well..... I may get a bit more done tomorrow evening with any luck

The suspension seems to have settled now, its a bit low! needs raising a bit to stop the wheels catching the arches! Tonight will hopefully see the new arches and wheels fitted, or at least ready to fit after spraying Mike

yesterday was another 12 hour day on the mini, it doesnt look like we did a lot, but there was a huge amount of work in trimming the arches and getting them to fit correctly! here we go.... old subframe bush was broken, no wonder the handling felt a bit odd! old v new all fitted up castor, camber and tracking set again wings cut to clear the new wheels new arches all trimmed up and fitted back on its wheels and some pics from this morning in the light I'm well happy with the result 8) carb and exhaust next then.....

That is stunning. Black handles look awesome too. don't change them. As long as you keep it mint, you'll never have any probs selling that Are you gonna fit a stage 1 kit, or just an exhaust? If you're just fitting an exhaust, don't bother with a bigger carb as it wont give you any extra power

i thought a stage 1 kit was just pretty much an exhaust and filter? I've got a full exhaust and lcb, and a 1 3/4" SU and K&N filter to go on. When we just put an exhaust and carb on my old 1000 it made masses of difference... Looks like its going to get a central oil pickup pipe, and maybe a cam too... don't mess with the daily driver eh?!

Well if you put on the LCB, you're going to have to change the inlet manifold too, as the standard item is cast and the inlet and exhaust manifolds are joined together. Then you have a stage 1 kit!
What exhaust are you fitting? If you're planning on fitting a cam (SW5 is my recommendation) then fit the HIF44. Otherwise, the HIF38 is fine.

looking Good...amazing how a set of nice wheels and arches can change the look of a motor...on the engine side of things i can say from experiance that a hif44 will work fine with or without an uprated cam..as long as you get it tunned up ...before the big end went on my current engine i had a maniflow stage2 lcb fitted straight through exhaust and a hif44 carb with alloy inlet manifold..worked a treat. But i think the extra grunt it released is what upset the big ends...never mind good luck with it all great looking mini very cool
