Howdy folks, Had a spare weekend so decided to drag my Ital out of the bush that had grown round it over the last year and swap the axle for one that works. She's moving again, but when I opened the bonnet to jump start it I noticed some scrote had cut all the radiator hoses! Must have been trying to nick off with rad for some reason! Will be heading back in a couple of weeks to lower it and sort out the radiator. Lewis

Right, I dragged this sucker out of a bush last weekend, and I've got about 6 weeks to fix or scrap it. It even started after a few turns after sitting for about two years. So far I've cut off the old rad pipes and tightened the fan belt! Rad pipes on order, then only brakes and a bit of suspension stuff to do and it should be ready for an MOT. Wonder if I'll be arsed to do it. No excuses really since it's on my drive now... Lewis

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

What a peculiar vehicle... we never saw them. I want one... and yeah. Mammoth arches. Fill them Edit: bottom section of the bumper/front lip looks like it could easily be cut and adapted to any number of cars for AWESOME front spoiler action too!!!

:)Which engine does it have....1.3, 1.7 or 2.0? All Itals are very rare now, but I would think a 2.0 auto would be mega rare! The very last Itals had telescopic front shocks instead of the lever arm type, which type does yours have?

It's a 1.7 SLX, still slow as wibblepoo though! It's also had a Marina dash put in at some point! The suspension at the front has torsion bars paralell with the sills and normal looking shocks. Is that the later type? Lewis

:)Normal looking shocks are the later type. The old ones were the lever arm type that could be topped up with oil. [Very old fashioned!] The 1.7 Marina/Ital usually go pretty well TBH, maybe it needs a tune up. I remember when I had mine the dash switches were illuminated when the lights were switched on, mine used to get so hot that my fingers nearly got burnt when I touched them! I also remember the crazy way that the middle of the dash was designed to face AWAY from the driver! Despite how it sounds I have some good memories of my Ital. Hope you enjoy yours.
