That's wicked sick. I'm not sure about the arches though...shame you can't narrow the axle to fit! What box/clutch/bits combination you using? (Want one now ) Really nice little car. I echo Nick's comment about XEs - my friend used to rally one (damned well, too!) and it never, ever gave any grief - bloody thing would regularly sail past 8k well on the way to 9 ;D Seriously nice piece of kit, had a ride in it once and it'll always stick with me. Had a fairly nasty crash mind (made him think "yes, done enough rallying now") where he broke his collarbone, few ribs. Rebuilt the car completely mind, then sold it on! Got loadsa pics of it

Yeah the XE is a good motor, I'm be running R1 bike carbs, jetted to suit the 2.0L on custom inlet, should sound heavenly, and give around 170+ bhp I'm hoping.
Running gear is XE lump with Manta 1.8S sump and pickup pipe, Carlton engine mounts and rubbers, Manta 1.8S gearbox, shortened Manta 1.8S prop, Manta B axle with LSD and big drums. (i have a narrower Manta A axle which may end up on there).
Vented front brake upgrade, SPAX adjustables, -60mm springs 350lb ish front and 200 ish rear (I forget exactly) but TJM spec'd em for me. Currently on GpA Revolution 4 spokes, 7x13 ET +4, but not sure what it'll end up on, as I think the diff ratio is quite high, so may need to go to 15's.
Things to come once its on the road, poly windows, race fuel tank, cams and headwork and a wag over with the spray gun.
Should be a good little track weapon, hoping to be at Retro Show in it.
I really don't want to arch it, as I love the lines as they are

Superb! Imagine how far 15x10 rears with ET0 will stick out *n

Top grammar tips! Bought = purchased. Brought = relocated Lose = misplace/opposite of win. Loose = your mum

Looks good . You don't have some standard chevette wheels or anything else a bit narrower you could try on the axle do you? I'm going to be doing something similar this summer, but sticking with the chevette axle for the time being. I've got a manta B axle though, I'm wondering just how much it will stick out with normal chevette wheels. I'm sticking with the manta engine for the moment, but just planning ahead for when I need an axle that can take more power.

I have some VW steels, which are pretty similar in spec, ET 38 I think, next time I've got the camera out, I'll stick one on, and snap a few pics.

Kadett C with ATS Classic do look the biz. That design of these cars just says CAR all over it. Nothing more, nothing less. Just perfect IMO.

They were on it when I got it, but I've sold em now, as some one offered me silly money for em, as they were original Engleman's.

Nice. Orange does it for me too. I hope you decide to narrow the axle, arches would scream 'I should be fast' but keeping the lines will make it much sleepier.

Yeah, I could maybe swap all the parts from my Manta B axle over to the Manta A axle, which would lose 15 mm each side, but I'm hoping to get away with it, buy losing the width in the offset of the wheels, I'm test fitting a friends wheels at the wk-end to get a better idea of what I need.

Yeah but so many sweet ones to dilute the curse word. Mk1 Polo on classics, slammed Mk1 golf driver on tele-dials, this to name just 3. I wish i'd got that golf off ya

Milko, How are you planning to lower this sweetie of yours? 60/60 or 85/60 or something else? Using a new kit or DIY? Just out of curiosity and perhaps for future reference..
