First time I have seen this thread. Looking really good. The imp "scene" seems to be totally different from all others as everyone seems to do something different (or at least the ones on RR do anyway) and there is very little of the "you have to do it this way to be cool" mentality of other scenes.
Fantastic keep it up ;D

Very true, i wonder how it came about?
The imp has always been used for lots of different competition work, i think this rubs off on the owners. Its also been the underdog for a long time compared to the mini etc, means its not the obvious choice, and so the owners don't like the obvious solution!
V8imp is looking super ace too, good work!

p.s. revos arnt the law, TH's all the way baby!

just a thought but have you worked out your gearing? if you have got a 7" lsd most likely 3.62 on 13" wheels you will have a hopeless 1st and 2nd gear and 60mph will be around 3500rpm in top i know this from experience and the only option is the ultra rare 3.14 gearset from the diesel sierra . the old sd1 rover ran a 3.08 diff on 60 series 15" rims on the vitesse and and 70 was a smidge under 3k rpm. beemers have some good ratios and the freelander also has a better 3.2 ratio

yep its a 3.62 then, i didnt bother with first gear and it was driveable , if you spend a few quid on the motor to get it to breathe and rev a bit more freely it will be fine but stock rover v8,s tend to be a bit wheezy after 4500rpm . my first car was a chamois and despite the knackered roto couples and a couple of blown head gaskets it was a great little car. looking good though

no but if its a gm180 box then i have a mate with a v8 moggie who is deperate for one if you want to sell? i have a brand new cam kit with chain and gears for the 3.5 a 210 degree one from dje engines maybe do a swap. there are a few sites that will work out your gearing but on 13" wheels you will be still on the low side with a 3.14 ratio
