when's the car going to hit the 1/4 mile strip then my next outing will be inters Why are you so into proving that Chris's car isn't 13 sec capable? My mate's G is a 13sec car, and another is building a turbo G40 proper drag car polo to break into the 12s. 1/4 mile'ing is all about the setup and launch. just look at the yanks and how they launch. Besides, inters is a curse word place for 1/4 mile, and so is brunters. I know, been there and done it, 0.5secs slower due to the surface. Anyways... Be a shame to sell it Chris, but I guess we all move onto bigger and better projects. The mk1 will be awesome anyhows!

will be nice to see one in the 12s. i pretty much wanted a 0-100mph car as you cant do over 70 on a road. so just wanted to make an aggressive accelerating car. don't really care about top end but should have a nice top end aswel. needs another gear though.
paul your car is going to be the nuts but I'm not telling anyone what is planned as i don't know whether your keeping it under wraps until finished

Because his little bro has a very modified very quick red G40 as well and he did most of the performace tunning for it so knows a tiny bit about these things ;D ;D ;D I don't think he's having a dig but timeing slips work better than words so prove him wrong ;D ;D How you doing small ones?

doesnt really need an lsd now as the eaton charger has more of a 16v type of torque. it is more progressive than the low down grunt of the standard G charger. a G40 with eaton charger, standard head and bottom end, standard pulley, no lsd running 140bhp on safe map ran a 13.9. ok he did have a carbon fibre bonnet. pushing nearly 100bhp more should bring that time down a bit i hope. Think I had slightly more than 140 bhp when I ran 13.9, when Andy had it I on the rollers it must have been leaking boost, 140 bhp and a 13.9 1/4 just don't add up! also had abit more weight reduction than just a cf bonnet! Lol. To get your car into the 12's would require some major weight reduction and an LSD at the minimum, and even then I cant see it happening TBH, low 13's maybe, if it was pulling 220 bhp. Andy Nicholls has 600+ bhp and only runs mid/high 11's, his Rover weighs slightly more probly but has a good drag setup, solid rear suspension, huge slicks etc.

milko thats the man that had 13.9 - hows the skyline dude. heard your pulling low 12s now.
how did you get the polo so light. i thought that 140bhp was a bit low for the spec. probably intercooler related like the rest have been.
i will be very happy if the car gets around the time yours did. as thats quick enough in a matchbox

Hello m8, 32 is doing well, 12.4 is best so far, did 0 - 60 in 3.7 yest at York's 0 - 60 challange, still on standard boost.
Basically my G had nothing in it except dash and seat, sunroof removed, no sound proofing, plastic windows, back bumper off, strenghtener out front bumper, washer tank, basically everything you can unbolt, scrape off etc. The problem is, once you get below 14's, making anymore gains is VERY hard, traction, even with LSD is a major issue with anything over 160bhp and suspension setup is a massive part of it at thit point, which compromises a road car, i.e, a car setup for dragging will be a pig to drive daily on the road, as such the only G's were going to see hitting mid-low 13's will be all out track cars, IMO.

Good look with it m8.
I'm sure the right person will pay good money for it, sometimes just takes a while for them to come along, as you say it has everything already done so is worth a fair amount, plus it looks a minter, mine was abit rough!
