Nice one Hairnet, now slam the biatch! :-)
Stuff the 1800, I had a 2.0 with a CA2 cam, gas flowed head and 4-branch manifold in one of my old MK1 Golfs. It went well enough ;-)

Looks ace! How does it drive with the standard engine and slush box, slow I assume if you're looking at engine options already? I used to have a standard 1800 16v KR in a Mk1 (the one Darren has now) and it went like holy sh!t off a stick, highly recommend that conversion, you need a 5-speed manual GTI 'box though, not sure how it'd be with an auto! ;D I have the original 1800 16v engine and 'box from my Mk2 in the garage as a spare, just in case I need it for my Mk1 but I intend to keep it fairly original with it being low mileage etc. Glad to see you have the Haynes manual out already!

Sweet! Love the blue interior.
1.8 8v - cheap and easy, 16v would be more fun 20vT for bigger, more reliable power 1.8 G60 for good power and that noise

These are HTNs arn't they? - Dubmeister have starting selling them I really like MK1 Jettas - and yours looks great hairnet600 I don't know why but I rather like the idea of doing it 'Pimp' lowrider style with bags & wires, perhaps its the slushbox and blue velour upholstery that makes me think it would suit that style?
