I own this car since 1998, when it was extremely tired ;D
it was black, partially resprayed in satinblack by a previous owner and a lot of rustholes scratches and dents.
technically it was also tired, a blown headgasket,
clutch almost dead
so I started with renewing the headgaskets, and skimmed the heads.
then renewed the clutch, and shortly after that the gearbox died, so replaced it too
then i started collecting bits for an extreme makeover
- ZENDER bodykit
- rearspoiler, originally for an alfa 33 1.8 Td
- loweringsprings
- 15" 5 spoke alloys
- sportsexhaust with twin tailpipes
- a nice interior from a later type alfa 33
- a MOMO leather steeringwheel
- 4 doors
- a tailgate
- bumpers
- a new bonnet
- 2 new frontwings
- 2 new sills
the most difficult decision to make was about the colour
it became "verde oasi" a pearleffectcolour originally for a '98 Alfa Spider.
i took 3 weeks off and started work.
i've replaced almost every panel except the rearwings and the rearpanel. those I've repaired
when the car was sprayed, I've sprayed the headlining in satinblack, replaced the red carpet for a black one
and fitted the new interior, also black
all the external trim sprayed satinblack too, those tend to go white with sunlight.
then i sprayed the rear lightclusters transparent red completely
foto's were taken on the first outing, the dutch alfa romeo owners club trakday on the circuit of Assen
first picture also shows my purple alfa 33 (R.I.P. )
a few months later the green 33 failed the APK ( that's the dutch MoT) for some welding needed to be done, but I overlooked
so now it's being stored, but soon I'll begin to dismantle the car, and put it on my freshly purchased CJ autovip bodyroller to finally get the welding sorted.
hopefully all the work will be done before the end of summer and i can start enjoying myself again
