Hi, Here is my gold/green metallic Datsun 100A bought off of ebay not long ago. For those who are unfamiliar, its fwd and has a 4 cylinder 988cc engine. This one's pretty much in mint cond. thanks to being ziebarted and garaged most of its life, with only 36k on the clock. The only things that really needed doing were the brakes and changing the water pump. On the way down to my mates garage to fix these problems, the pump impeller sheared off!?! Thankfully no other damage was done, so we fitted the new pump, and now its running (and sounding) better than ever. Future plans are for a new steering wheel, some 14" alloys (possibly off a 240/260z), and dropping it an inch or two.

Nice one! Great colour too, makes a change from the usual mustard/orange/baby poo colour. White interior not that common either.
Think my stepdad saw this at a show in Suffolk a year or two back, said how clean it was. Did the previous owner also have an Anglia or something?
I think you might struggle with Z alloys, they're 14" and set up for RWD. Older Saab alloys do fit.

Think my stepdad saw this at a show in Suffolk a year or two back. That'd be it, it's well known locally. I seriously considered buying it, but decided it was way too nice to leave outside my house all night and in a dodgy car park all day. Excellent purchase, I'm sure it's got a better home with you!

Cheers for all the comments. ;D Did the previous owner also have an Anglia or something? Yeah, the guy had an absolutly spanking anglia in his garage. As far as wheels go, i've been doing a bit of investigating, and i think(?) some 14 x 5.5 (with an offset of 0mm) 240/260z alloys on low profile tyres will fit. The stock steelies on there at the moment are 12 x 4.5. I haven't measured the offset yet, but i've read its normally around 30mm for steel wheels - Is this right?? If so, I've worked out (using this handy little calculator: www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp) that, if anything, i'll gain a few mm on the inner clearance gap. I'm still a little unsure , so i'd love to here everyones thoughts on this.

Yo. Yeah, the brakes are actually useable now that it hasn't got fluid the consistancy of chocolate sauce in the system, Although it could still benefit from new discs and pads methinks. I've bought some pads off ebay for 7 odd quid, just gotta get some discs...

I'm selling these wheels soon, if your interested. They are 6x14", ET38 and the tires are 195/55, so if you don't like them at least this information should prove useful in sourcing something else. I wonder why the wagons got drums when the other models got discs. Drums are fappin' appalling!

Hmmm. Could be. ET38 is that the offset eg. an offset of 38mm?
Did you need spacers for those to avoid hitting suspension/inside of the arch, or did they just go straight on no problem?
Also, Could you post a side-on pic for me, so i can get a better look at them?
I'm lovin' the detail on your bonnet btw!

The wheels (and paint scheme) were on the car when I bought it. 38mm is the offset. They do not appear to have spacers behind them and they do not rub or catch anywhere.
The car is in the paintshop at the moment having the door sprayed. I should have it back early next week so pm me a reminder and I will take a side view picture for you.
Love the BA dancing avatar. I thought I'd imagined that episode :-)

I know! I think the reason stems from the fact Datsun classed the Wagon as a commercial vehicle and therefore put pov spec bits on it. Updating the front drums to discs is perfectly possible - the best donor would be a saloon. AsconaDaz, we own precisely 2 out of the 3 remaining 100A wagon still registered with the SMMT!

mike, put a thing on the general section asking about wheels, see what people have to offer, or what will fit.
