Afternoon all. Say hello to 'Gunther'  , soon to be the recipient of all my cash and spare time from here to eternity... It's a 1.6 diesel (50bhp - 2 tonnes, that's slower than you think...)      "What have we done........."  There she is, I don't understand any of the German, can't work the controls.... Should be great!!  James. |

You probably recognise the username from clubGTI, I used to own a Golf 16v that developed an untraceable misfire and had to be scrapped..
I hate the engine already, trust me.... Although getting 35mpg is certainly better than the 18 I would expect from the air cooled models that exist in my price range!!
The import plates ran out over a month ago!! MOT is on monday so fingers crossed on that one, I'm worried about it, the new MOT rules mean that diesels have to be ragged to death before the emissions test, it's 24 years old for faps sake!!

Welcome, and well done, westy's are a brilliant conversion They are such an ace van, and I LOVE the colour. Those 1.6 n/a diesels are painfully slow in a crew cab so I hate to think what it's gonna be like in a full camper  , get an AAZ 1.9 TDi in there, or even a 1.9 N/A diesel, I seem to remember our very own Guz had a couple of Seat 1.9s for sale, you still got em Guz? |
