I have to say, the car isn't in quite as good condition as it looks on the photos and does need some bodywork, mainly just the rotten front doors. Unfortunately I can't crack on with it as I'm laid up ill in bed at the moment but rest assured, it will be at some shows this summer one way or the other! ;D

	GTI international? I've heard that most of the panels are different on the swallow tails. Is this true?

I hope to get to All Types show (North Wales) certainly, I'm on holiday during VW Northwest (Tatton Park) so can't go to that one, not sure about others yet. Might go to Vanfest as I love that one, but it'd be in a camper I'm afraid. As for the panels - yes, a lot are different. Obviously the rear panel but also the bonnet has no crease in it along the front, the doors are different and various others. Much of the trim and fittings are totally different to other Mk1's I've seen, more like Beetle bits! There is a lot of swallowtail info on this site: www.swallowtail.info/

Yes, I need the lower chrome strip for the front grille, I have the top one already if I remember correctly. 	A couple of new pics from last week. I've not done too much work on the car lately, been tinkering with my Mk2 instead (will start a thread about that in a minute). I've taken the old Mk1 round the block a few times and it's running pretty good now though, still needs work on the brakes for the MOT as despite now having the servo hooked up they are quite poor even by early Golf standards! Anyway, pics: Looking pretty good, I know it's a bit higher than it was but should at least clear the odd sleeping policeman now! ;D Also, a couple of pics from my 1975 Golf brochure featuring a very similar car, not sure if I've posted these before?

	mk1 vws are ace ;D bruntingthorpe is wayyyy better than ipswich (225 miles) couple of hours from up here only 10 miles from M6/M1 split 15 miles from rugby and i cant go cos ill be going to dover for a ferry
