I've been lurking on here for a while now. Then I registered with the intention of posting and.....carried on lurking.
Anyways, there seems to have been a few new guys joining/posting recently so I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon. I'm kinda furthering my taste in cars from aircooled dubs (yup, I lurk on Volkszone too ;D) to various 70s/80s stuff.
My daily hack is this 1983 Golf C Formel E. Four doors for cramming various stuff in, and pretty ratty. 1272cc HK lump in it on the original four speeder, which means it shifts ok. Pierburg on it missing the various cack to make the autochoke work. Which means driving it in the current climate is interesting.
I suppose it could do with a bit of a battering with the 'stick and some wheels that proper tyres will fit on, but I'm on the lookout for something a bit different instead. I'm curious about J-tin...what's parts availability like? I'm kinda used to VW parts from GSF et al.
I've got a couple of Beetles off road for resto too, but I haven't touched them in ages due to work commitments. Top forum though, really interesting and loads of relevant posts.
