anyway i thought id introduce myself my names david and I'm nearly 18. I own a 1984 mk3 Capri which is my "daily driver" i bought it to see if i liked the capri after not having been in one in over 6years. I didnt want to spend alot of money if i didnt like it so its going to be up for sale soon to be replaced by a minter with more power.
here she is looking dirty
also i have a long term restoration on my hands, a pretty large one at that, although ive not had any time to do alot on her recently. Shes a 1963 Austin Mini cooper. Originally a 997cc so i suppose fairly rare. A few things that ive replaced or am doing is the whole floor pan, floor x-member, boot floor, boot hinge panel, door steps, inner a panels, outer a panels, a posts, inner wings, door skins, front wings front panels, rear floor healboard, lower font bulkhead, rear wings (body 1/4's) you get the idea
theres a photoalbum online if anyones intrested, but heres a picture.
Also in the family my dad uses a 1984 Porsche 944 for his daily driver i shall post a picture of this later.
Sharing the garage with the mini is his 1980 Maserati Merak SS, this has had a complete engine rebuild and also a new passenger floor pan (done at home)
The insurance on the cappa is £35 a month but thats on my dads, but that is fully comp protected no claims etc so not too bad, I'm going for a 2.0 or 2.8 in febuary
Good work that man, I proper enjoyed reading about the maserati in PPC, inspiring stuff. A DIY engine rebuild on one of those is the stuff of which legends are made (and of course easily cancels out the naffness of the big ‘MASERATI’ stickers on the sills)…!

I guess you arrived here after the tip-off I gave your dad
sure did yes, he had looked and mentioned it but not registered so i thought id beat him to it!
The PPC lot are a great bunch, they seem to do a great mag and the pictures are pretty good too!
My dad did think about removing the sill stickers but we decided to leave them on as knowone knows what it is! but they were on before he got the car.
When he bought the car it had 2 extra scaffold exhausts, with nova style chrome bolt on tips on each so it looked to have 6 3" exhausts, it had a gear gator with 8 slots which didnt line up, a tiny steering wheel and a huge rear wing bolted to the bonnet cover. So its been taken back as best to standard now
WTF!!! Who does that to a Maserati? Presumably some max-power-reading flabby-@rsed cockney builder who wishes he had a Ferrari. The mind boggles. Any photos of the ‘as bought’ condition?
