If all goes to plan you should see my 3.1L mk3 capri ghia its got a 3.1 essex lump in it with burton heads, holley carb, lumenition, janspeed headers, 270 cam, crane roller rockers and about 215BHP. It would be quicker if it wasn't auto but it like it that way(also works better with the cruise control I fitted. Suspension consists of 2.8 billies, 1" rollbar, 180lb springs on the front and on the rear I've got h/d multi leafs and it's all polybushed. Now wearing cibie oscars. Tried to fit super oscars up top in summer but they block of the air to the rad!

Great capri, not sure about the grill either (even if it was planned for my old en), but i think its cos of the colour coded light surrounds, you could black them. You see so few Mk3 ones these days they now look good as they are whe you spot one. Not 100% sure about placement of the Cibies, Generally though looks fantastic, nice subtle and old skool. Engine packs a punch too! thumbs up.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

If I put the lights up top it would look better but then it pops head gaskets. lesser of two evils. As for the light surrounds my mate has another cosmos blue mk3 with mk2 grill and black surrounds. Its confusing whos is whos now!!

the power plant: obligatory messy interior shot: I told you all it looks the dobermans danglers with the lights up top and heres the proof- the anti-roll bar- 3mm thicker than 2.8i. Interestingly, the bushes are metalastic and are off BMW e21 323i as are the clamps but it is not a BMW roll bar. I break BMW's for a living so I know me stuff. let me know your thoughts.

Mega. Bet it's nigh on impossible to drive sensibly. I'd be sliding the back out @ every opportunity & generally behaving like an immature curse word.

Nice car I like it lots. Always liked the mk2 grill on the mk3 as well. If it was mine I would replace the beige interior as well, but thats just me.
Is that the standard 3.0 rad. What is the anti roll bar off, it seems a similar overall size to the capri one.

Radiator is actually granada auto but souped up at colchester radiators. No idea what the rollbar is. it ain't escort twink, as someone told me, cos its too wide. It is shorter than a stock capri one as its got ally spacers on the front panel to force it back and make the castor more standard. It was on the car when I bought it

power slides are difficult cos first gear is sooo tall. 4 pot rear end would make it more fun ;D but a high of 12 mpg wouldn't be so cool Mega. Bet it's nigh on impossible to drive sensibly. I'd be sliding the back out @ every opportunity & generally behaving like an immature fool.

engine was dyno'd about 10-12 years ago when it was built. The guy I brought it off didn't know much about it so the history is sketchy. He also didn't look after it as it was a complete lemon with a good engine when I got it. 10 years will take its toll on an engine but it still shifts plenty

As for going out in it its, supposed to snow tue! backroads are beckoning.... so's the trees

215BHP! What a sleeper I like the grille but I'm not convinced about the Cibies. It looks great in the first picture. So unassuming Automatics rule!

I don't like to gripe about economy but the auto is more economical than a manual with my carb. 35cc accelerator pump means once up and down a four speed 'box is nearly a quarter litre of petrol if my maths is correct. Therefore auto's do rule! ;D
