hi guys, I'm new here my name is sean and I'm 14 years old. i live in australia and I'm currently building 2 minis, one is a 62 street car which ive been restoring from the ground up, it was a rusty old blue thing, and over 3 years ive built it up to what it is now, a nearly finished bright orange mini! it now sports an 1100cc engine, soon to be supercharged, cosmic alloys, which will be sold for wider items, wood and picket arches, twin dtm exhaust, custom interior etc etc.. dash is being remade at the moment so it doesnt look like this anymore this is the new dash as it is at the moment, I'm covering it in black vinyl with orange stitched seems when i get the chance the second is a race car project that i will start a new thread on soon hope you like the pics cheers sean

Loving it Nice to see an early MK1 with it's original unvented front panel. Got any pics of the dash? Looks great with the Cosmics. Group 2 arches would rock, but I'm just old fasioned like that. Ever thought of using group 2 arches with the lip cut off? I was gonna do them on my old 1275GT before I scrapped it.
Anyway, welcome

i was toying with the idea of group 2's, but I'm keeping the wood and pickets on and fitting 6x10 inch wheels, so it will be nice and fat, or if i can get wider custom ones i will. thanks for the positive stuff guys

use some 10x6s but put 145s on them! lots more width without the tyre sticking out the arch.
(my wheels are 10x7s with -5inch offset. I used spectrum rims (a 3" inner and 4"outer) and made my own custom centers.)

I think I prefer the pre-arch look in your sig, but I'm sure that the wider wheels will justify the new arches once they're done. The new dash looks great as well as functional, I hope all this modernising isn't at the expense of the cars classic looks though (being a '62 and all), I'm hoping that a pair of red bucket seats and tinted windows aren't on your shopping list ;D). That's still got to be the best 14-year-old's car ever though...top stuff!

That is awesome alone, but the fact you only 14 makes me wonder what i done with all my years.
My dad used to go on about having 3 motorbikes at 14, but this takes the biscuit! I had 3 push bikes and a scootex! Wow

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

hehe, well I'm obsessed with these things, and i do alot of the stuff myself so costs arent that much of a problem, just a shame i cant drive on the road for a couple of years, i still enjoy going to shows with it though

Very nice, another vote for no arches though.
W&P or Gp2s are an excellent choice though!
