You can get audi 50 grills from ebay.de and .be, i bagged me one for less than 20 quid a few months back the audi 50 at inters was this one Dan: Its not actually an A50 (RHD, later engine type), but the bloke has sourced all the bits, he's like good at that sort of thing!

Thanks again for the comments. Will definatley go through with the 80mm, and 13x7s. Just a matter of when, as I got too many other cars to sort out in the immediate future! Hmmmm, I always thought they didnt bring the audi 50's over here. Weird that there are a couple in RHD. DerbyDan, completley agree! I think it would be rude not to. ;D Is it literally just the grill and badges that are different on the audi 50? I knew they were the same cae, but I would of thought there would be more differences than that! I've got a few options on the grill. The badge just clips in place, so I could just take it off for a debadged look, and it wont leave a hole or any marks behind. Like on this: img.photobucket.com/albums/v609/philj/109_0970.jpgShould be getting that mk1 in a week or 2... ;D Or quite tempted to get the chrome strips that come on the grill of the audi 50 either side of the badge, and keep the VW badge. Would look like this. img.photobucket.com/albums/v609/philj/DSC_2899.jpgCheers datsun cherry, give me a month, should have my G40 sorted by then, and that dark green mk1 with a GT lump. Then I'll start on this blue one. ;D Pics of all my other cars are here if anyone interested. retrorides.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=readersrides&action=display&thread=1126955439Anyone got any ideas on what to do to it? don't want to do anything irreversable.

holy curse word! someone get me maa whaaaackin stick ! haha. Seriously cant understand why the front end looks so jacked up! But its ok, just found a cheap 70mm lowering kit. I think 70mm should be low enough. Saves me the hassle of getting things from germany as well. So gimme a few weeks, and it'll be on the floor. ;D

Nice looking car...does look a little high tho...
whether Nick did anything wrong or not isn't the most important thing, to me, it's the idea that there is conflict between two forum members - this place is the most friendly forum on the web imo, and is just great, and we could really do without arguing.... but i'm not gonna say who was right or wrong, just gonna tell ask you whether you really wanna come on here everyday and argue?

Great little car! VWs have really grown on me since I've been visiting this site. My mate's 160,000 miler sat right up in the air for some reason, too. But it still rocked.

Venom do a Gmax kit in -70mm, that would probably suit you down to the ground (literally!)

Norman, of course, and I completely agree, the atmosphere on this forum is great. Apologies for arguing, but I don't think I was in the wrong, just stating a few points. I came here to talk/read about old cars, and show my latest.
Yeah, a guy on the polo forum, has just put a g40 cup car kit on his g40, so has his venom -70mm kit available. Think 70mm will do, If not then I can always get some lower springs, or top caps for the front. Will hopefully have that sorted in the next couple of weeks. Lowered the rear of Mk3 polo today, now just for the fronts which are a pig of a job. Not looking forward to sorting the Mk1!
No idea why the front sat so high when I took the pics. Prob a combination of the handbrake, the fact it had been off the jack for all of 5 seconds etc etc. Cant wait to get it lowered though. ;D
May be picking up some 4 spoke 13x7+8 revolutions with black spokes. So may put those on there until I get the cross spoke compomotives refurbed.

the fact it had been off the jack for all of 5 seconds had had quite a few cars which sit high when just off the jack... push down / carefully sit on the front wing then look again and its fine. but it does look good. i love revolution wheels. they should look the mutts nuts (if only they did them in 10x3.5)

Cheers, the 13x8s are the rear wheels for my g40, will be staying on that! Althought I want to find a set of 13x8's for the front as well! The msw's are gorgeous wheels! Wish I didnt sell them, but they havent gone far so I can always try them on the mk1 when I get it lowered. Heres a dodgy photochop, the proportion on the front wheel doesnt look right at all. When I get it lowered, will try on the compos again, but I think the cross spoke 13x7 compos will suit better when I get the refurbed. Hopefullly the -70mm should sit like it doesn in the msw pic. Think I'm gonna get some lowering top caps for the front as well, give it a slight nose down stance. ;D
