Cool, personaly I prefered it before it was dressed in black, mainly due to the rust and oxide now just needs a little help from the lowering pixies

That's kerrrwaaalliittty! Loving the paintjob, you do it all outside? How's it holding? What did you do, just blow it over? Think you need more spots though

Dude, that is a nice little motor! always kinda had a soft spot for them. Nearly had a lowered mk1 on wide pepperpots in dark blue for my first car, it was very cool asides from the alleged sump full of coolant! Why do your parents/older siblings always talk you out of buying cars that 'need work'? spoilsports! Still fancy a Mk1 XR2 actually! (Daz, I don't care! )

thats no rattle can job thats 10 hours of sanding 4 hours of masking and 40 minutes for 2 coats of paint, its actualy doing amazingly well theres actually a fly imbeded on the passenger side wing just been upto Derby today for a set of the peppers £20 for 4 rims with useable rubbers hehehe these things apparently run with no oil so antifreeze in the sump is nothing

Pepperpots? good choice! I know they're a fairly stock Ford rim, but I think they always suit mk1s really well, especially when dropped a few inches! £20 quid for 4 useable wheels and tyres ain't bad! Heh! no oil? sounds about right, my mate's mk2 was rarely treated to any oil and it seemed to carry on regardless, tough little buggers!

someone once asked me "when did ford go from red to blue badges" ;D they didnt.....see it fell off in my hand while i was washing it there was a tin of red hamerite so i scraped the last of the blue off and gave it some red, i think it suits it quite nicely blue just doesnt go with black like the red does
