So far I've fitted new 1" front lowering springs, single leaf springs from a 2.8 which give a 1 inch drop to the rear. Axle location kit and strut brace. The 1.6 engine has been evicted from the engine bay and replaced with my shiny new pinto (well its very shiny inside ;D) and is know up and running. Underside has been undersealed with any surface rust removed and given a coat of red oxide before a coat of the black stuff. Have just started trial fitting the bodywork bits. Its not everyones cup of tea but I like it, its pretty much the car I wanted when I was in my teens and got my first car which happened to be a capri. [a href=" "] [/a] [a href=" "] [/a] I'd hoped to get it a lot further than this in the time I've had it but due to serious slacking on my part its only this far

Nice one. I take it its a 2.0 pinto that you`ve put in then. Any mods carried out or just a standard unit?

thanks for the comments people, will try and get some more showing the turbotail spoiler over the weekend. Pheonix, the engine has a Camtech fast road cam and a webber twin choke carb. Apart from that its standard but has done faff all miles from new having been supplied from Ford to the local college. Have picked up my next project to be started after the Capri. A 550/4 lowrider, the missus well impressed not [a href=" "] [/a]

Capri is looking good mate! Still might have prefered it in Matte Black though!
Hope to see you + it around sometime. Really tempted to get a Capri myself, such a lot of motor for the money, although they are increasing in value now..
Cheers, Greg.

oh yes you will see me out and about in it, hope to be terrorising the local innocent road users within 2 months or so with it complete. ;D Your not wrong re Capri prices going up, 2 years ago a late model laser in typical 20 yr old Ford coniditon could be had from between £100 - £250. The same cars (bearing in mind most are starting to need new wings and some serious welding underneath) are now in the £600+ catagory. It all seemed to start when a motor program (forget which one) stated a good 2.8 special was worth 12,000 (not 1200 12,000) After that prices started going up for all of them not just the v6's.
Some good news on the lowrider front for anyone thats interested, its fitted with a Yoshimura 605 big bore kit, 70's period performance mod and rarer than a rare thing with added rareness. Its not going to have the local R1 lads quaking in their boots but should provide a useful boost in performance.

I'm starting to develelop an interest in lowrider bikes...keep us posted on that one, eh? That front spoiler on the Capri is pretty scary...maybe you should go the whole way with a Zakspeed replica! ;D

I'm afraid for me that is teetering on the edge of barrydom.... Tread carefully my son, for thou risketh to create something which looketh sus! I think if you keep away from the temptation of the bad-boy bonnet (unlike these fugging muppets) you should be OK though.
