No not Vanpeebles again , this is my identical "retro" car to his, won't let me put it in the same topic the curse word. I hesitate to put it here but it has enough shiny trim and gets enough odd looks to be a retro car, stick some old silver on black numberplates on and some AA badges on the grille and they'd be no wiser! That and the scary suspension. The vent is mad and surprisingly stock, it seals over the top mount intercooler, note how from the side it just looks like some mum shopping car, great fun because you can see their bored reaction turn to surprise when you turn the car round in car parks. I've had some old classics flash headlights too, Mini owners tend to make weird confused faces. A nice wooden Momo wheel! Shame about the naff Hijet van style gearknob but I might get a Nardi wooden one for it to match the wheel. Anyone else know some good round normal looking wooden gearknobs? Vanpeebles the mechanic has done all my car work which consisted of putting the blow off valve on, no other modifications as of yet but maybe a D-Sport air filter to come from Japan soon. Other stuff to do yet, those wheels need refurbishing and a new set of tyres. The exhaust is a bit rubbish and rusty too. And there's a dent in it. But I only got it about a month ago! 660cc turbo, makes funny noises, brrrarrrwhhooooPISH! Plans for future, fit the Avanzato TR-XX roof spoiler I got for it and maybe get a set of gunmetal Watanabe RS-8's (basically Minilite style 8 spokes). Perhaps the grille could accomodate some spotlamps too. ;D

because they are so weird and rare the prices fairly roughly, id like to think a really nice one like hirsts is worth maybe 3500 to 4 grand. but they can be had a lot cheaper! mine was knocked about a touch and well under 2 grand

Mine cost a little under 2 grand but it had been off the road for ages. Apparently nearly 2 years (in a garage mind) and all it needed was a new battery! It's not quite as perfect as the pics make out, there's some work needs doing before I'm satisfied. Rear bumper is a bit scuffed, a few little scratch marks around the sides, a light dent in rear passenger side door (you can just make it out in that pic), plus those diamond cut wheels get scruffy real quick, mine need refurbing! Still not bad for a T-Reg that it had only just under 30K mileage on when I got it AND it's still on the original tyres with legal tread (which need changing soon I reckon)! One old lady owner, doubt the turbo had ever even spooled up! I reckon if I got mine perfect it would go for £3500-4000 to the right buyer. They still go for this price in Japan which is incredible as Kei-cars (660cc engine max, some size restrictions etc.) depreciate VERY quick. The "normal" sports version (Mira Avanzato TR-XX) is worth about £1-2K there now. Here's a sound of it, unfortunately the recording is a bit tinny so the blow off valve PISH comes off more like a sneeze, you can hear the dentist drill turbo whistling away though - members.aol.com/shutokousilvia/miraclassic/sdanmira.wmaIt's a bit mad and sometimes when I'm getting in it on a morning I think why didn't I buy something more sensible, but like the old car review says though, it's got the handling of a shopping trolley but it's so daft you can't help but love it. When it's warmed up and I let the turbo start howling it makes me proud and gets even more odd looks off people. And that's before we mention the Vanpeebles dog incident.

Just thought I'd give a bit of an update on the car now I got a few more bits for it. Filter makes it go FFWWAAAASSSSHHHHHH, really odd sounding as the exhaust is very quiet on the car so you hear all the filter sucking and turbo howling. Coming soon, yellow headlight bulbs, strut brace, slightly lower suspension bits from an Avanzato TR-XX R4 (just to get it down to a less daft level), some different official Daihatsu wheels for a while a bit wider than the stock ones (the stock ones are really rough looking close up, diamond cut and have gone all scratchy, need a refurb!).
