well after looking at adriansi's metro i feel ashamed! this is my metty!1.1l basic interior, semi standard stereo  sticker!  obligatory furry dice!  big sticker were 2 quid from RCS, before i even thought about getting a metro!   different hubcaps! me in the background! |

Very clean Metro you got there! I had a couple as a 17 year old (Mk1s admittedly) and I used to lurve the go-kart like hydragas handling - three wheeling it round corners....pity you don't get that lovely gearbox whine with a k-series!
Prime candidate for a set of monster deep-dish Euro wheels!

its tidy everywhere part form the rear arches which have been bodged up.
the person with the flyaway hair is the girlfriend, she offered to take pics as i was putting the speakers in the parcel shelf area, saved me a photo job anyway!
the plan is, when I'm older and working, (Star monday-aggghhhh!) it shall become lower adn when the arches are tidyed properly it will get some nice alloys, pref wide with streched tyres! and a deep dish.
my dad had some fun in it, he sed it handled well as we flew round roundabouts quite rapidly!

The Metro back-window sticker thing doesn't get the rmad seal of approval I'm afraid...not my thing at all.
Does look clean though...and would look really cool with the rim/rubber combination you've suggested, if a little difficult to find. (it should be 3.75" pcd, so Marina/Herald/TR7 rims would give you the euro-look offset...although handling and wheel bearing stresses might suffer!)

I'm with Dr. mad on the 'Metro' sticker in the back window..... In the future those will be super-ironic-cool, but at the moment they just look a bit turd if you ask me.

the metro steels are rubbish! they are the rubbishiest set of rims in the world, they have hardly any lip at all! i think the caps look better ATM untill i can get a set of alloys for it!

metros arnt my thing but i wouldnt say it was curse word.thats a bit harsh. lose the big sticker, bonnet vents, badge and side trim add your choice of rims and your well on your way to being there. |

Agreed Tony, that was bloody harsh! personally I like Metros, and as you said Penski, they can look pretty damn good when done properly, handle well, and can be made to shift indecently quickly! It's a shame some people can't be more constructive in their comments. There are plenty of cars which are considered retro cool, which I can't see the attraction personally, but I would never insult anyone's car, no matter what it was, it's a very dull thing to do, especially if it's someone's baby and that person has put a lot of effort into the car. Elmo, keep up the good work, stripping it next and dropping that 1.8 K16 on throttle bodies in next I presume?  you know it makes sense! |

I'm with cocacola, but keep the vents IMO, i quite like em but yeah de clutter trim badges etc, nice simple rims, not too big and drop suspension a but, should look even neater then. |

this will be my runaround till i think about next march when me and my dad have trip to germany,the land of the automobile planned!
the badges have gone and the sticker it teitering, it was only put in as a joke, then i liked it , then i didn't! etc
according to the new technician who used to work for rover its only the liners and pistons that need changing to make it a 1.8! this will become the project after i have got the new ride!
ill wack some new pics up when i can be arsed to, the hubcaps have one making way for satin black steels! much better!
to tell you the truth i don't really give a curse word what people think! thats the whole point of retro aint it?!
