Well, just thought I'd throw these into the mix. The first is my 1850HL auto, which I still have and was my first car at 17 (19 now)....and still going strong. It has only 36,000 miles on the clock and is generally in good nick. Not much has been done to it besides a few gentle mods like electric fan, CD player, soon-to-be-fitted TT exhaust and manifold, extra gauges, Sprint alloys and so on. To my amusement, it got used as a set-piece in a documentary called "Poisoned" where XYJ and a black taxi were the only cars on a deserted street in Bristol, recreating the assassination of Georgi Markov (stabbed in leg with umbrella coated with ricin). She got in a few nice shots, I (An extra) ended up on the cutting room floor floor think they knew who looked better Went to RCS last year too, should of coughed up to go down the strip for a laugh.... ;D The next is my (short lived) Dolomite Sprint - basically standard besides modern stereo, bigger tyres (yay!) and a distinct lack of bumpers but a dodgy flag...but now I've sold it. Ran out of room, time and now have the ability to buy me next car - a Stag ;D (so if anyone knows of one for sale shout!) So yea, hello! Nice to join the forums ;D www.triumphowners.com/334

That background looks oddly familiar - where abouts is it?
Always liked the idea of a Dolly Sprint, despite the reputation for engine problems and rust... (afterall I own a Midget 1500)

Well, the 1850's photos were taken trundling around the whole of Bedfordshire (one of those long sunday drives that extends into finding lots of twisty country lanes and before you know it, you're in Nuneaton or something).....the Sprint's shot in Coventry. Arf, well insurance. For my 1st year (I didn't do passplus, I'd done the majority of it in normal lessons and home driving, plus it counts for nothing IHMO) it cost me almost as much as it displaces in CC's... However, with 1 year's NCB and it's various mods, it only costs 550 quid third party, which is dead good. The Sprint cost the same, as it was standard. Interestingly, with 1 year's NCB I can get insured on any Rover V8, or the Stag, for as little as 500 - hence why I'm chasing one of those now I'm with Norwich Union, by the way None of them have ever failed me over the 2 years. All the 1850 needed was a new rotor, cap and HT leads (although it did eat a shocker this year and need a 1" square patch on the sill). The Sprint just kept on truckin' (although it was running a tad warm at the end of it and had ONE VERY VERY NOISY WHEEL BEARING). Only time the 1850 ever got me, parked in maplins after a spirited (as much as you can do in an 1850 auto) drive, couldn't get the dangthing started. Prattled around under the bay, but there was nothing on the key at all...... Just as I was about to give in an ring someone, realised i'd left it in drive, so the inhibitor was on ;D Ta for the comments

Ello Penski! Yea, I'd knocked through here once but didn't realise how well it was getting on, so I'm back with a vengance. Well, if I ever come across another patina'd sprint I'll give you a shout, especially as it was so cheap ;D Cept knowing you you'dve cut 4 coils off the springs, taken out the inside headlamps and put some steelies on it before you'd handed over the cash
