Wow - that's a gorgeous piece of kit. After the Retro Cars (or was it PPC) article I was so tempted... And by fitting the engine from one into one of me Dollies. Apparently 250HP can be had for 500? Bargain if you ask me. But, aye, beautiful machine.

that is very cool is it one of the last judging by the number ? Yep, it's #502 of 505. Though it's not one of the last registered: they weren't registered in production-number order; some took a while to sell. The last-registered MG Maestro Turbos were on H-plates, the earliest on F-plates. The engine and transmission is basically lifted straight from the Montego Turbo, but the suspension, exhaust and brakes are unique to this car

Not been here in a while... Thought I'd post a few more pix of my baby, these taken at a classic car show we attended in Preston in mid-July (how long ago that seems now ) My jallopy attracted quite a bit of attention, and there was nearly always a queue of people waiting to look at it. I suppose most folks won't have ever heard of one, let alone seen one: Here it is parked next to a fellow 80's sports saloon, the Sierra Cosworth. The guy who owned this beauty also owned an RS 500 :

I really like these cars,.. as well as the Montego turbo. From a time when British car companys would turn a family car into a ridiculous fire breathing beastie,..
